Elisabeth Elliot’s voice was a fixture voice for thousands of living rooms through her 13-year daily radio show. After her husband Jim Elliot was killed on the mission field her best-selling book was the inspiration for the faith of three generations.

She was a prolific author and one of the few prominent female voices of the church of her time. She was a purity culture and traditional gender roles icon for thousands of women. Her words, and expressed views at that time have been polarizing for many Christians. I’ve since learned her true story was more complex than any of us knew.
