- How Russ Finessed A Record Label Out Of MillionsHow Russ Finessed A Record Label Out Of MillionsWas he wrong for this? When you own 100%, you will always make money.Russ signed a record deal but didn’t give the his independent catalog. They pushed the new songs he made under his record deal. They spent millions of dollars marketing those songs. They blew up.Because they blew up, people listened to the songs in his independent catalog. And he got money for all of that.He used the record label. They didn’t use him.Any brand partnership, collaboration or deal you sign needs to have some sort of ancillary impact on your marketing. You need to reach more people. You need to get more followers. And you need to use the deal to push them to the things you own.Like your website. This is why a website is so important.Because you don’t own your social media. So your Instagram blowing up is cool. But what about your website traffic? That’s better. You own that.Every business, artist or entrepreneur needs a website.Sell My Course and I’ll Pay You $1,000Need more help developing the foundation for your brand so you can make $100,000 yourself?Click the link in and buy my “How To Market Your Music On Social Media” Course: www.group82university.comDo you want to make $5000/month from YouTube? Advances are supposed to provide you with money to:- Record an album.- Survive. Who they hell can record an album and survive in the early 2000’s for $5,000?Labels don’t care about your well-being. They want to own your catalog. That’s it. Your catalog is where they make all of their money. That’s why they want to own your masters. And/or your publishing. They could careless about you as a human. Or your family. They want your intellectual property. And it’s worth way more than $65,000. Stop signing deals. Do it yourself. I’m on iTunes Charts right now. Why?Because I did it myself. - Snoop Explains Why He Left No LimitSnoop Explains Why He Left No LimitShould he have stayed?Master P is the realest. A rare breed who isn’t filled with greed. He wanted to provide people from the hood an opportunity to make their own money consistently through their own intellectual property. And that’s what he did. The list of people he gave an international platform to is insane. And they wanted to leave, he let them. Why?Because they did what their contract said they needed to do. They delivered. P delivered. Why be greedy? There’s no robbery in fair exchange. Nothing is permanent. Nothing lasts forever. You have to let people spread their wings and fly away. If not, you’ll just create this incubator of negative energy and that will haunt you down the line. Stop taking advantage of folks. Let them live their destiny. So you can live yours. - Jay Z Explains Why He Doesn’t Do Endorsement DealsJay Z Explains Why He Doesn’t Do Endorsement DealsBe careful who you rock with. Are big features worth it?No.A partnership is worth it.With a partnership, there is no robbery in fair exchange. There are a few amount of artists who can really move the needle on a feature. And those people are going to want to $500,000 for a verse minimum. When you have a partnership, there is equal contribution.A big feature isn’t equal contribution. The marketing that comes from that is what you need. And you need to make sure they market the record.Put exactly what they need to do to market the record in your contract so you can hold them accountable.Brand deals and endorsement deals are the same way.You have to make sure the people you are associating yourself with align with your values. As an artist, you are the brand. If you align yourself with something you don’t believe in and/or agree with, you are connected to them forever.Jay-Z understands this. It’s why he’s selective with who he works with. Are you selective with who you work with?►► Click Here and Subscribe to the #1 music marketing channel on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/Doriangroup82...🎶 Do You Want More Music Business and Music Marketing Tips? ►► https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDMw_...►► Enroll In Our Top Rated Music Marketing Course: https://www.group82university.com►► Become A Group 82 University Affiliate and Make $1,000 Per Sale (50% Commission) - https://www.group82university.com/aff...►► TubeBuddy: How did I grow my YouTube Channel to 100,000 Subscribers and $70,000 in Revenue in 11 months?
