Starting Monday with a sunrise walk at the Botanic Garden and workshops to follow, the Seed Library will be launched at the Alice Springs Library on Tuesday at 4pm, and back to the Garden on Wednesday from 4pm for the Earth Day Gathering By The Fire. Join the community celebrate the only Earth we have, with live music, free hot drinks, a sausage sizzle and a native plant sale!

8CCC Brekky's Kate caught up with Joshua Tranter ahead of his exhibition opening Essence at The Roastery 10am on Saturday. 

ESSENCE invites audiences to experience the natural world beyond what is immediately visible. It explores the limits of feeling within visual components, evoking a sense of presence that cannot always be seen. From sand to sky, his aim is to inspire wonder and a deeper appreciation for the natural spiritual world we live in.

All work will be available for viewing whenever The Roastery is open (Tuesday-Thursday 7am-2pm Friday 7am-8pm) and is a collaboration with Watch this Space.

8CCC's Kate Lyons-Dawson caught up with ICONYX, an emerging musical artist from WA who has family here in Mparntwe. Having just released a video for Blak on Trak, this Pintupi and Kukatja singer songwriter is returning to the recording studio with her band, who also appears on the video. News for 2026 includes an appearance on ABC TV’s The Piano (Season 2) - now available on iview - and part of RTRFM’s In The Pines in April. 8CCC's Darcy Davis speaks with Sparkie Jackzon, a New Zealand drag performer best known for competing on the second season of House of Drag where she placed 1st overall and was crowned the winner of House of Drag. Spankie would later compete on the second season of RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under where she would go on to win that season as well. FabALICE is on now and Spankie is one of the headliners for the Airport Development Group Comedy and Cabaret event on Saturday night!
