On the second half of this two-part episode of My Favorite Album, host Jeremy Dylan is joined by the greatest drummer in rock’n’roll history Pete Thomas, best known as a member of Elvis Costello’s bands the Attractions and the Imposters - but whose resume includes everyone from The Finn Brothers to Los Lobos to Pearl Jam. They discuss the classic 1967 debut album from the Jimi Hendrix Experience - "Are You Experienced?"

Along the way, they break down classic tracks May This Be Love, The Wind Cries Mary, Fire, 3rd Stone from the Sun, Foxey Lady, Are You Experienced, Stone Free and 51st Anniversary, Pete reveals the Hendrix origin of his most famous drum part and he recalls playing Foxey Lady with the Red Hot Chili Peppers while Flea hung upside down from the ceiling.

My Favorite Album is a podcast unpacking the great works of pop music. Each episode features a different songwriter or musician discussing their favorite album of all time - their history with it, the making of the album, individual songs and the album’s influence on their own music.

Jeremy Dylan is a filmmaker from Sydney, Australia who has worked in the music industry since 2007. He has directed the feature film Benjamin Sniddlegrass and the Cauldron of Penguins and the feature music documentary Jim Lauderdale: The King of Broken Hearts, in addition to many commercials and music videos.
