(kocchi no hou = this way/direction)
4. Is there a convenience store around here?
5. I’m looking for a supermarket.
6. I’d like to go to a department store.
7. How long does it take from here?
8. Can I go by foot? (=Is it within walking distance?)
(ikemasu = potential form of iku>ikimasu)

Lisa san seems to have lost her way. She asked a woman the way.

Lisa: Um… is the station in this direction?
Woman : No, not this way, but that way.
L: Is it within walking distance?
W: Well, let’s see, it will take 20 minutes. Go straight here and turn right at that traffic light. From there, follow the road about 15 minutes, and you will see the station, I guess.
L: Michinari?
W: Well, (it means) to follow the road. There will be a little slope, though.
L: I should be fine. It will be a good exercise!
