Brian’s journey in optics began through his wife, Sherry, who owns Optical Prescription Lab (OPL) in Pelham, Alabama. Since its establishment in 1977, OPL has been a leading provider of high-quality lenses for optometrists and ophthalmologists across the United States, specializing in polarized, photochromic, and advanced digital prescription lenses. 

Brian embarked on a personal project in 2015 that would revolutionize the world of eyewear for hunters and competitive shooters alike. Driven by his own needs as an avid hunter, Brian experimented with over 70 different lens coatings, colors, and depths to create a lens that enhanced visibility during dawn and dusk hours. This process led to the development of the Hunters HD Gold lenses.

While initially designed for hunting, these lenses quickly gained popularity in the competitive shooting sports, proving highly effective for pistol, rifle, and shotgun disciplines. Today, Hunters HD Gold sunglasses are the official eyewear of the USPSA, and have been embraced by top competitors in the sport.
