For anyone experiencing a mental health crisis, looking for addiction resources or just wanting to talk to someone on a bad day, there is a new number to call: 988. The three digit number has replaced the national number making it easier to remember and use when it’s needed. This change happened in mid-July, but the previous crisis hotline will remain active. The Portland-based nonprofit Lines for Life is handling 988 calls for the majority of Oregon.
