2/5ths of the seminal Montreal based horror rock punk (?) band FIGHTFACE join Walter and Keith to talk about how to become musicians, how to chop off your finger and how to handle hecklers. Dan plays the keys and Kate plays the bass and they’re joined by Elvis on vocals, Vince on guitar and Dustin on drums. They are FIGHTFACE/
This is basically a how-to guide for becoming a DIY artist in 2019.

In case you didn’t know, Pat Laprade is one of the busiest people in Quebec Wrestling, so once again we find ourselves closer to 6 weeks between episodes. But that’s ok, we compensate by talking about almost EVERYTHING that has happened since Christmas! 3.0 signing with WWE, the AEW signings, Uce popping his shirt off in front of the cops, Becky winning the Rumble and what is going to go down TONIGHT at Elimination Chamber. Enjoy the show!
If you like what Pat has to say, be sure to check out any (or all!) of the books he’s written about the squared circle:

Mad Dog: The Maurice Vachon Story

The fact that Mariana Vial hasn’t been on this show yet is kind of a tragedy. We’ve been good friends since at some point in 2001 I would guess and she’s been a talented part of the Montreal improv scene for what seems like forever. Her most recent endeavor is “The Jazz Ands” a musical improv troupe that is performing monthly at The Montreal Improve. Featuring Sandi Armstrong, Coco Belliveau, Adina Katz, Mariana Vial, Heidi Lynne Weeks, and Marie Fatima Rudolf on the Keys. Their next show is Valentine’s Day (and will subsequently most likely be following a rom-com theme) at 8:30 at Montreal Improve.
Check out The Jazz Ends upcoming Event Page on Facebook and Follow The Jazz Ands here.

Swan didn’t rape anyone. You’d think I’d have remembered that after watching it 3 times and reading the book.

In the last week or two, you might have heard a little story about a comedian being banned from performing at a comedy show for having dreadlocks. It made the national news. Zach Poitras is that comedian and now he’s on the show. And you won’t believe what he has to say about the whole thing. Just kidding, for the guy at the center of such an incendiary story, Zach is amazingly open to listening to dialogue about appropriation and cultural exchange. Listen, we don’t have any answers here on this show, but maybe it’s worth a listen to hear that no matter what side of this story you’re on, Zach is just a (funny) guy.
Zach has a LOT of shows coming up, so you should probably track him down on Facebook. But, keep in mind that he has personally asked us to share this event: Les Pirateries: Soirée clandestines so you should check that one out.

Not one but two comedians join us for this episode! What a treat! What starts as a regular single guest affair with the lovely and talented American boy named Jared about kids in MAGA hats spirals into a conversation about Jimmy Savile once James Oakley arrives to the show. That seems like a pretty good resume of this episode. Sure does.
Be sure to check out Jared as part of “An Evening With Craig Fay” on January 30th at Cafe Cleopatra and keep up with James on Facebook and Instagram.
