Live from China and Kansas City at the time. I flew all the way into Kansas City for the forward Casey, aka for thinking chiropractic Alliance seminar. It’s a it was born from a Facebook group that just blew up to over 5000 we might be at 6000 members right now, headed up by Dr. Bobby maybe. And there was a desire to take it from a Facebook group to a live event. So why don’t we can meet everybody? because realistically, you see the names, you see, Rob, you see, you see Kevin, you see in Greg, and Bobby and all these people, you know, I mean, I want to meet them, you know, it just those those people that use respond all the time, they’re always commenting or trying to help or whatever. So it’s nice to actually get to meet these people. And then everybody else gets to meet each other as well, which is huge, whether it’s the students that joined the group who also are evidence based, and that’s the key are there to help each other. Right. And so it was really fun least for me.

There was a group of students, and they found that I was working in China. And of course, that’s always a conversation.

Can doctors use Pinterest to find clients? Rose Guthrie thinks so. We discuss Pinterest strategy, do’s and don’ts. Also we spend time on GDPR, Facebook Custom Audience changes and ways to divide your time as a wife, mother and entrepreneur.

In the first segment we discuss GDPR. How serious is it, how to have a privacy policy that includes cookies, tracking, email list handling, unsubscribing, is data secure and more? GOOD NEWS! She makes it simple to understand.

The UK GDPR guidelines to be compliant are a little murky to the professions. Ask 4 lawyers and you might get 3 answers with some similarities but also some differences.

How does knowing the numbers of your Facebook Custom Audiences allow you to manipulate the system? Confused, we are too.

Rose went to Funnel Hackers Live 2018, Russell Brunson’s event and Tony Robbins spoke too, and she thought she would come away with a better clarity and strategy. Instead she had a mind shift from being self-conscious to realizing, it’s not about me – it’s about doing the best for the client so there goals are met. Also how a tur story can about yourself or client can really impact your business. Remember that you have the skillset to help clients reach their goals.

PINTEREST 101. Are you ready to learn some strategy and how a doctor’s office can use Pinterest for 2018 marketing and actually get clients and build a reputation? Pinterest is still a Blue Ocean.

Pinterest was once a digital mood board (pinning things you want or like) to now its like a visual search tool and people use it to browse what they want to purchase later on. You have to answer before pinning a picture, what would be ideal prospect be searching for. Don’t forget to put some branding information on the picture and in the subtitle, otherwise even if it goes viral, no one knows who its from originally. Pinterest people who are looking to shop and pin a picture, well 80% tend to follow through and order.

Rose also describes how to combine a blog post, picture, facebook and funnels for a well rounded marketing effort. Be impressed, she has closed 50% of her business this year from pinterest leads.

Remember you don’t have to be on all platforms. Pick the one that resonates well with , that you can put the time into and of course where ideal clients are… master one then expand.

As a mom of 2 and one on the way along with being a wife and an entrepreneur, listen to how she sets up her day so she can get work done and fulfill the other roles. She also has a powerful story about her son and what he said which was that OH NO moment that her priorities are out of sync.

After residency in Barbados, Dr Kelly Wood embarked and a journey to the USA so she can become a fellow trained endocrinologist. Not only does she help with diabetes and thyroid issues, but she has a mind, body and spirit approach. Also, she travels, blogs and has a love story worth hearing.

Kelly Wood, MD is board certified in Internal Medicine as well as Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. She is developing her voice on her own blog, speaks at events and is looking forward to wrapping up her own book.

She really surprised me because not only did she do locum practice for two years but she took vacations to Africa and a few Asian countries. Dr Kelly Wood gives her reasoning why vacation is such an important part of life for her mental and physical well-being… not just eating delicious new food and experiencing new cultures.

How does someone go from leaning towards a Psychologist specialty end up becoming an Endocrinologist? (Hint: treat people with dignity and not as a paycheck) Also, experiencing different jobs, volunteering and other activities and readings that expand your comfort zone just might be the seed planted that turns into a rewarding career in the future.

How do you keep you keep the focus on patient care and outcomes vs being all about the money?

Our passion can lead to our purpose, so stay mindful of things that excite you.

People with chronic medical issues tend to have higher rates of depression and anxiety. Listen to how that translates into issues managing diabetes. Your mood can determine how a patient manages their diabetes.

Cheat days happen, vacations happen… does that mean you should eat dessert every night after dinner or shouldn’t aim to be strict for 4-5 days per week?

What did I do to cause hypothyroidism, what can I do to Prevent this or Stop it from Progressing?

If you find a diet that isn’t harming you and you seem to overall have a better quality of life (going gluten free even though you don’t get diarrhea for example) while sticking to said diet, then is there any reason to not recommend / encourage it?

Find yourself a mentor so you can get guidance throughout your stages of life. For instance, she is a woman, black and international. The further she has gone in her career (she is Fellowship Trained Endocrinologist) the fewer minorities she comes across. She attended med school and 2 years of residency in Barbados before deciding to redo all her boards and residency for USA qualifications so she could specialize in endocrinology.

Ability for growth, take initiative and a heart for patients are 3 of the qualities she looks for in hiring Medical Assistants. How much training does the doctor have to give a NP, PA, RN or MA?

When it comes to relationships, learn how resilience and self-healing was so important for her when she moved to another city and realizes, I’m engaged to the wrong person. Also, don’t stay in a dating relationship that isn’t healthy and fulfilling just because your 35 and want kids.

Prayer, meditation and a she keeps a journey… which she looks back on later to see where she was … that exercise is deeply encouraging and enlightening.

How does education play out once the government starts paying for it? What if you have a learning disability or just don’t learn as fast when you are younger? Competition is incredibly fierce when the government lets you go to school for free… only the best of the best make it.

When everyone gets paid the same amount for a certain job (with no way of earning more), what is the number one reason people get so frustrated and generally turn to alcohol? What do you do when you work hard but your coworkers slack off every day?

What is the “Circle of Distribution” and how is that one of the KEY Components to getting ahead in a communist country? Who Do You Know?

Jonathan Small (work smarter not harder) and Tony Gavin (OSGO) join us today from Birmingham and Manchester, UK. Both are podiatrists and Jonathan has 30 years of clinical experience while Tony started a little later in life but takes his corporate background and transformed it into helping other podiatrists. There is no reason to struggle in private practice and no reason to ‘just be getting by’ either.

Not only do they offer Podiatry practice management services and weekend bootcamps, but they also have help with Admin, HR, and even Supplies and Tools every podiatrist will need.

Jonahtan started out treating diabetic ulcers (and other types of conditions) and then switched gears to gait movement analysis for stroke recovery etc. and finally dived into his own private practice. After all the years of successful practice he is teaching others to Work Smarter, Not Harder in their own podiatry practice.

Tony Gavin has a back history of the business world (marketing, managing risk, systemizing, employing people) and started directly in private practice after graduating. Many people left the NHS (the United Kingdom’s health care system) system when he was going through school because of the rule changes. The scope that is allowed to be covered by the government versus private practice has dwindled down to cover mostly severe at risk foot disorders and complicated surgery related conditions.

When we go to a health care field like podiatry, many went in to help people not to become accidental business owners.

How do self-imposed beliefs hold you back or worse sabotage true success and freedom (whether that’s time, money or both).

They find the following two statements to be some of the most common objections for podiatrists to not accept their coaching: ): I don’t have the time to make the changes and I can’t get away from projecting my own money values onto the patients. They find the key to unlocking these money concerns ‘for the patient’ is when the podiatrist finally executes the plan and patients accept care without a fight and objections. Once you see the light, you realize you were responsible for holding your own practice back.

This leads into the marketing part of the interview. We have to attract the type of clients, the Awesome Clients, that we want for the dream practice that you want. Otherwise, we can get burned out and frustrated from all the rejection.

Repetition of services performed that you don’t like doing, is the quickest way to burnout. We have to move away from just pain relief and instead focus on functionality.
