I've spoken to about 20 event pros over the last few months about their event career goals and roadmaps. Some want to work at their dream event, some want to design their dream event career, some are making a change in their event careers and some want to enter the exciting world of events! It's a little vocabulary lesson today! In this episode I talk about some important VIP terms to know that will help you talk more intelligently with people in interviews and people you network with when you're trying to make your next event career move.

We discuss in more detail:

1. Rider: A document that VIPs send relating to the requirements of their performance or appearance
2. Entourage: The group of people who travel with a VIP
3. Photography pen: The area where photographers wait for celebrity appearances and photos
4. Press line: The line of press outlets that celebrities speak to before entering a venue
5. Face book/ Face sheet / Tip sheet: A document with photos, spelling and pronunciation of VIP names
6. Protocol: The official procedure of system of rules governing affairs of state or diplomatic occasions
7. Protocol Officer: The professionally trained person who works with the event to determine the flow according to protocol
