  • Ep 14: Ways to Gain Clarity & Vision for Your Future

I'm back after winter break.  I felt a deep desire to unplug and clear space over the holidays and it was a wonderful season.

In today's show, we are exploring simple ways to gain clarity, courage and connection to our calling as we walk forward into the New Year.

This is the time where we can be mindful about what's working in our lives and what we are ready to change.  We tend to set ourselves up for failure as we set unattainable goals during this time of year.

If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, you are in the deep of winter.  This is more of a time to go within, to seek stillness and solitude, and to retreat.

It's in this "going within" that we experience deep self-reflection, and it's in that space where we can clear space, slow down, create clarity and a clear vision about where we want to go.

I'll also talk about what a vision board is and give tips on starting one of your own.

If you want to dive more fully into this work and get some guidance on setting intentions, finding your power word and creating a vision board, join the Live Freely Circle for January.  You can find all the details and save your spot by visiting HERE.

In the show I mention Whole30 - here's the link for more info on that.

  • Ep 13: Gratitude for the Life You Are Living

In today's episode, Shannon starts off the show with a touching conversation with her 4-year-old son, Grayson, as they explore the topic of gratitude.  You will love hearing his sweet voice and his take on what he loves about his life.

How often do we slip out of the habit of gratitude and instead of focusing and celebrating what's working or going well in our lives, we highlight what isn't working, what we don't have and what we think needs to be fixed?

This show will inspire you to open your grateful heart, to see your life in a new light and to reconnect to the feelings of joy and appreciation for the life you are living.

Visit www.afreespiritlife.com to listen to a free audio guided yoga pose - a gentle back-bend to help open your heart.

Here is the quote Shannon mentions - Notes from the Universe:

Be careful of what you wish for, not just because you might get it, but because in the wishing you may reinforce its absence in your life.

Better to give a great, BIG "Yeehaa! Thank you! Whoohooo!" in advance for having already received it, and act as if you already have.

    Whoohoooo!

  • Ep 12: The Practice of Mindfulness - A Pathway Towards Peace & Contentment

In today's show, episode 12, we explore the topic of mindfulness.

What is mindfulness, how can you practice it in your own life and how can it help you feel more at peace.

Practicing mindfulness, especially now as the holidays are approaching, can help you feel more present, help you walk through the more challenging, overwhelming times with greater awareness and ease, and help you feel contentment and gratitude for what is.

Life is short and if we continue to look "out there" for happiness, it will slip right on by.  Now is the time to wake up to the life you are living and to enjoy more wonder, love, peace and joy.

The practice of mindfulness invites you to be intentional in your choices, so you can direct your time and energy towards the places that enrich your life and you can feel more available and connected to the simple moments that make life so meaningful.

  • Ep 11: Learning Your Body Type & Returning to Balance with Ayurvedic Practitioner, Stephanie Mohr

In today's episode, I'm excited to share my conversation with Ayurvedic Practitioner, Yoga Teacher and mom, Stephanie Mohr.

Stephanie graduated from the Kripalu school of Ayurveda in June of 2010 and has a B.S. from the University of Kansas. She is currently teaching yoga, practicing Ayurveda and raising her three beautiful children with her husband and enjoying family life.

Stephanie has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and has had teacher training with Bhavani Maki from Ashtanga yoga Kauai, along with influence from many wonderful teachers. She grew up in the restaurant business and then enjoyed more than 12 years of her own catering business before making a decision to switch her focus to health in all areas.

Realizing the toll stress can take on the body, Stephanie has found Ayurveda answered many questions to living a balanced life. With education, experience in food, exercise and family she is passionate about helping people connect with mind, body and spirit in the highly accessible ways Ayurveda has known for over 5,000 years.

In this show, Stephanie shares the basics of Ayurveda, and how discovering your dominate body type (dosha) can be a powerful tool on your personal wellness journey and how it can help you return to balance.

  • Ep 9: Celebrating the Gifts of Autumn So You Can Feel Better

In today's show, I share 5 ways you can make autumn a sacred experience and how you can use these suggestions to feel better this time of year.

Now is a wonderful time to slow down, embrace the changes happening, to be seen and to be bold.

Have you been feeling like you're racing through your day? Are you overbooked? Are you longing for peace, inner balance and harmony?

As you are in this place of transition, you can practice embracing and celebrating the change, rather than fight, ignore or resist it.

Everything is temporary.  Change can come knocking on your door every day.  We wake up, we look in the mirror and we look different.  We see another wrinkle, another gray hair.  We can choose to celebrate this!

You can learn to invite and welcome change so that you walk through life feeling more open to the possibilities that will help you change and grow.  It's an exciting and beautiful time of year, and a wonderful time to let your beautiful colors shine, too.

We'll explore all of this in today's show.

In today's episode, we explore how to use mindful breathing when life is feeling overwhelming.  We talk about what mindfulness is and how you can turn to it during stressful times.

It has been a crazy time in the world.  If you don't have ways to unplug, reset and renew, it can feel so hopeless out there.  Being mindful is about taking the time to observe the experiences you're having and learning how to stay open and be present.

Today is a new moment - a fresh, clean slate.  In this moment, make a new choice and practice being mindful.

  • Ep 7: Balancing Your Energy & the Chakras
In today's show, we explore the importance of honoring your energy and talk about what the chakra's are, and how learning about them can help you feel better.

Become more self-aware and in tune with where your energy and emotions are blocked in your body when you discover the chakras.  Chakra's are energy centers along the spinal channel, and symbolically they represent where the body and mind meet.  Each chakra is connected to a part of the body and emotion, and exploring them can bring you more awareness of where you are blocked and where you can heal and grow.

Understanding the chakras help you learn more about yourself, help you feel more balanced and energized and enhance your overall well-being.
