Clara Hibbard is a young actor, singer, and writer based in Iowa City, Iowa. She has been acting on stage for almost seven years, involved with community theater, and has recently been exploring film. She has been singing since she was a toddler; she often leads music at her church and has been singing with the folk group Central Standard Time for many years. Sandy Kaur is a Singer and Screen Actors Guild member. Her love for singing started at a young age while growing up in Canada. She has performed in numerous live stage performances and can sing in Hindi, Punjabi, English, French, and Gurmukhi. Sandy is releasing her second music album DIVINE BLISS - a new age genre, which she produced with Thomas Barquee and GuruGanesha. She has also released her first music album SPIRITUAL HEALING in 2018 with Tim Abbott. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband Ravi Khanzode.

I am British-Ghanaian, born and brought up in London, and currently located in Virginia. I have spent a lot of time in Ghana and speak 2 Ghanaian languages, as well as French and Spanish. I moved to the USA in 1986 to work for an international organization. An avid traveller, I have visited over 60 countries and love learning about different cultures. I started writing poetry and lyrics in primary school, often inspired by something I had seen, felt or heard, or, just because. And the words literally flow from my lips….

"I wrote this poem in 2014 as I lay wide awake one night and found myself thinking about a host of things. Life appeared somewhat bleak, yet, when I looked out of the window the whole street was white. I hadn’t remembered it was supposed to snow and I was pleasantly surprised. Suddenly, I started wondering why things happen, and why we always want answers, yet how, sometimes, it’s really neither here nor there. Sometimes, not knowing is a gift.

It is an honour to have my poem featured in A Moment in Time. Funnily, I was browsing Backstage looking for auditions for acting roles, having decided when I retired in 2019 to pursue my dream to be an actress. I was intrigued by the description of the project, and its purpose, and I immediately thought of this particular poem, which, for me, is soothing and may speak to others and encourage them during these turbulent times."

A Statement from Bobbie & Lesley:

"We are two sisters, from London, United Kingdom. We are 2 thirds of a musical collective called LNR Music - With our sister Nicola. We've been composing and writing our own music since childhood!

The name of our song is THROUGH THE DARK. Through the dark is about still finding light, faith, strength and comfort even when you’re in the deepest darkness. This is very poignant considering this 2020 year we've all endured. As a family we'd been going through a lot. But as Believers holding on to God’s love and light was super important to us . It's what gets us through every time so we knew the song had to have some kind of resolution.

So Bobbie is the lead singer and in this song it's her vocals alone that you hear, we wanted a really haunting texture to the song. The words "yet through the darkest of days" is like that little piercing of light that gets pierced through trees in wooded areas and really just cuts through despite all the leaves. And branches. And I think Bobbie's voice does a great job getting you to feel that.

This song has been on a long journey. It was written 2 years ago but we didn't finish until feb 2020. However we really felt it's full meaning during the pandemic this summer and that's when we recorded it. So maybe it was meant to take this long.
