Many people have been taught Mary is very special with unique access to Jesus.  It is true in several places in the gospel, Jesus is called blessed among women.  And we all know why.  Mary found favor from God to carry the Holy Thing that would be the Son of God born unto man to be king from the line of David.  However, Jesus makes it very clear in Luke 11 that everyone who hears the words and teachings that He brings is more blessed than Mary.  If God found favor in Mary, how much more are those who hears and follows the commandments of Jesus?  We need to understand how much God loves us and favors us.  Many still lose the magnitude of the John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, He gave his only son."  God loves you and He favors you greatly.  Jesus wants to help understand how He loves you because He says you are more blessed than Mary.

The Pharisees accused Jesus of using the power of Beelzebub (Baal) to cast out devils. Jesus knowing their hearts put them into their place by speaking to them regarding unity and division.  A sovereign power cannot stand if it is divided.  Jesus used Beelzebub or (Baal) to correct the religious leaders by what Elijah did on Mt. Carmel when Elijah called fire from heaven after the 450 Baal priest failed to have Baal start a fire upon the altar.  But God, through Elijah called fire from heaven onto the altar of wood after it had been saturated with water and Elijah also called fire down from heaven to destroy two military company of 50 men each.  Ahab and Jezebel discovered the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob was a powerful God. 

Jesus casted out the devil by the power of the Father working through Him.  The same power during the days of Elijah caused the drought and the fire to fall from heaven to prove Baal was not real but God was.  Jesus response reminded the religious leaders that the non- powerful god of Baal is inert but the power of God working through him to cast out the devil was the true God proving that Jesus was the Messiah.

Harvest

The disciples observed Jesus praying.  When He completed praying one asked Him to teach them how to pray like John the Baptist taught his disciples.  Is this interesting to me that the disciples who had been following Jesus for some time into His ministry felt like they needed to learn how to pray. It makes me wonder why they felt inadequate with their prayers.  How was Jesus praying that motivated them to learn how to pray?  We may not fully know the details of this event until we are fully glorified but what we did know is Jesus did provide general guidance.  We will examine Luke 11:1-13 to learn more hidden truths regarding the example of prayer Jesus gave his disciples.

Harvest

Many of us continually look for an encounter of Christ Jesus.  How often have we prayed that Jesus would reveal himself to us?  We do not have to look very far because Jesus reveals himself in the parable of the Good Samaritan.  Often we look at the obvious of a kind man who traveling a road finds man left for dead.  We all agree the kindness of the Good Samaritan exceeds what most people would do to include the religious elite. However, the parable is a metaphor for the salvation of Christ. 

Join us as we come into knowledge of the character of Christ and His love for us.

Do not say the harvest is four months from now.  The heads of the wheat is white.  It is ready now to be cut and harvested before it goes bad and is destroyed.  Unfortunately, there are not enough workers to bring the harvest in time because the yield is truly great.  What are we to do?  The Lord said, Pray to the Master of the Harvest to send more workers into the fields.  The time in near and the Master of the Harvest is sending His son to gather up the yield.  Will you help us work the fields?  The reward is great to those who work alongside of the field hands because the Master of the Harvest is very grateful and generous.

Lost Loved One & Special Needs

There are many who say, " I follow Jesus." or "I will follow Jesus wherever He wants?"  He even calls some to follow Him.  Yet with their mouth they say they will follow Him but for many the time is not quite right.  Or, once they make the commitment with their mouth they look back on what they have or could have had and they give up and return to their old life.  Sometimes people renege on their word to the calling on their life and return after placing their hands on the metaphorical plow. Jesus say in Luke 9:62, "...No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."

How often we have been ashamed of the gospel and Jesus gave us the eternal life by His brutal death?  How often have we been disobedient to praying or witnessing to someone because of doubt, fear, and unbelief?

The question is, "After deciding to serve Jesus have you regretted your decision?"  Now, ask yourself this question, "Are you fit for the kingdom of God based on Luke 9:57-62?"

Let's evaluate our heart in how much we really love of Christ Jesus.  Have we fallen out of love with Him?Or, did we ever fall in love with Him?
