Today Lynette spends time with Cynthia Kerson PhD of Marin Biofeedback and Brain Science International. Cynthia is a neurofeedback, biofeedback, QEEG and professor extraordinaire. She also has a brother with autism.

Cynthia’s brother didn’t speak until he was twelve and now speaks nonstop. Cynthia and her brother are great friends. Her love for him is evident in her tone as she shares stories of growing up dealing with the challenges of being a sibling to someone with autism.

Additionally she talks about having her (now adult) brother come for a visit. During that visit she chose to do his brain map. As it turned out- in relation to balance and normative data- his brain was more stable than hers. Lynette had a similar experience when comparing her brain map to the map of her son Dar.

Together Cynthia and Lynette discuss the challenges of gathering accurate diagnostic data with patients and relatives on the spectrum, as well as how to proceed in helping them become more capable and comfortable, despite the lack of certainty this data challenge can present.
