With this vlog, I go over the many lessons I learned while playing the Phantom game (https://www.amazon.com/BONAPARTE-9724-Phantom-Board-Game/dp/B00GRB0YRA) with my friend that especially apply during quarantine and coronavirus time. Afterwards, I discuss how you too can be a real life hero via simple steps. Plus I discuss a strategy I'm employing to write my next script. If you have any questions, thoughts, etc don't hesitate to write or hit me up on social media @PhilSvitek. Stay safe!
These uncertain times force us to confront what we actually have control over and what we don't. It can be extremely scary to realize that we don't have as much control as we once thought. But that's okay because if we stop and consider what we do have control over, we can create stillness in our lives and actually make a big impact. Tune in to my thoughts and afterwards, please comment down below with any questions or thoughts that you may have. Or hit me up on social media @PhilSvitek. I'd love to hear from you. Within the creative space, most of us have to put together a demo reel of our work. Having done demo reels (as well as sizzle reel) for the past 10 years, I've learned that you always need to download/pull/grab WAY more footage than you think you'll ever need. And so it is my suggestion to to this work upfront, rather than the editing phase. During the editing phase you want to be working at the speed of thought and that doesn't happen when you have to start and stop to grab more footage. In a sense, it's a matter of batching the work into various stages. Please comment down below with any questions or thoughts that you may have. Or hit me up on social media @PhilSvitek. Spotify just rolled out their app's new redesign in an effort to make it easier to find favorites. PLUS, the goal is to make podcasts more front and center, therefore discoverable (https://www.theverge.com/2020/3/9/21171474/spotify-homepage-redesign-ios-app-mobile-tablet). Is this actually the case? If so, how does this affect the podcast industry as a whole? Join me as I speculate on the larger context of this news. Have you ever been asked to attend a meeting and when you showed up you have no idea why you're there or what the meeting is all about? Chances are you have because it's a growing problem in business. And trust me, I've experienced it hundreds of times which is why I made this episode: because I'm sick of it and want to do anything I can to change it. Per usual, the first step to change is an understanding of the problem and why it's happening. With this lesson, I highlight the top-line ways to make the most out of meetings. If you have any other suggestions, by all means comment or hit me up on social media @PhilSvitek. Or, if you have questions, ask away! Let's all do whatever we can to eliminate needless meetings so we only have to attend the ones that are productive and required.
