  • Personal Mastery Is The Presence Of Calm, Compassion, & Power

    — The presence of calm, compassion, and power is an indication of personal mastery. They don't fear expressing what they need to say, they lift others up, and they stay centered despite the chaos around them. It's no secret that these people are unstoppable, that their lives work, and that they achieve their goals. They are the ones people look up to. The ones who seem to be able to reach beyond the sky and touch the stars and have deep and loving relationships.

True masters are those who have mastered themselves. Their negative thoughts, judgments, and endless loops of resentment and petty upsets have been banished. Who no longer need to be right or to fight for status or to have their way. Those who don't live their lives limited by fears, judgments, or the thousands of life-numbing concerns most of us share. It's time to go to work on building your own path, being your own person, leading others; and transforming your family, community, and workplace.

Valeria interviews Russell Heath — He is a graduate of Accomplishment Coaching, one of the nation's premier coaching schools, and he is a Master Certified Coach.

Russell coaches for personal mastery; that is, to develop in individuals the leadership, emotional intelligence, and resilience to drive their lives forward—with deftness and humor—regardless of the circumstances.

In his teens, Russell Heath hitchhiked to Alaska and lived in a cabin on the banks of the Tanana River; in his twenties, he lived in Italy and then traveled overland across the Sahara, through the jungles and over the savannas of Africa, and into southern Asia; in his thirties, he sailed alone around the world in a 25-foot wooden boat; in his forties, he wrote novels; and in his fifties, he bicycled the spine of the Rockies from Alaska to Mexico. In his sixties now, he is building a boat which he will row around Newfoundland in 2024.

He's worked on the Alaska Pipeline, as an environmental lobbyist in the Alaska Legislature, and ran a storied environmental organization fighting to protect Alaska's coastal rainforests.

In 2010, he left Alaska and moved to New York City to dig deep into leadership development and coaching.

  • Animal Mirroring: Your Animal Healing You

    — Our interactions with animals provide us with opportunities for healing and growth as human beings. Wouldn't it be great to be able to tap into the wisdom of animals that stands right beside us when we are struggling in any way?

Valeria interviews Lisa Tully — As a professional animal healer & communicator from Ireland, Lisa has an international practice working with all kinds of species using a multi-disciplinary holistic approach.

She is excited to share a fascinating area of her work that supports animals by supporting you their guardians. They know you the best and Lisa helps you tap into that as a powerful way of self-reflection and understanding.

  • A Daily Movement Routine That Is Different Every Day!

    — There is a daily routine created by Michael Landau that is different every day. A habit of moving with awareness is what he wants to learn. The attitude is more important than the action. This involves slowing down, observing closely, and stopping the rat race. By reducing effort, increasing efficiency and not hurting yourself, you are giving yourself the opportunity to improve. We rarely take the time to do those things. Our bodies are not well-cared for by most of us. Our bodies constantly send us tiny feedback messages, which we usually ignore.

The nervous system seems to need a reminder of how to listen to itself. When we were young, we all mastered this art. Lifting our heads, rolling over, crawling, and walking all came from this experience. Playing, listening, and trying many options and variations, we were attentive and curious. Learning organically takes place in this way.

As adults, we seem to have lost sight of this fine and subtle art in our busy lives. It is difficult for us to reexamine our habitual patterns and take a break from them.

Unlike so many of us, Michael has learned to balance the need to explore, to play, to slow down and try new things with the lack of time and peace of mind he suffers from. Creating a habit is the key to success here.

His research showed that short breaks - a couple of minutes - during which you get up, stand up, make some deliberate slow movements, and then sit back down at the computer are actually quite effective. As long as you do it every day: three minutes.

A tiny habit can have a huge impact. To make it manageable, you make it tiny. To make it effective, you must make it constant — and big changes begin to happen!

Valeria interviews Michael Landau — He has been a Feldenkrais practitioner since 1994.

This means that he teaches Mindful Movement, and uses the minute exploration of movement to create well-being and growth. He teaches people to take better care of themselves by developing finer and more precise awareness of themselves as they move through life.

As the pandemic forced him to move all his teaching activities online, he developed a daily online practice of movement with awareness that is only three minutes long. It started as an experimental venture into the unknown, and it became a stunning success. Benefits build up and accumulate over time if you give yourself those three minutes each day. Creating the daily habit of stepping out of the hamster wheel, slowing down and looking at yourself with gentleness and care has proven to be highly transformative.

Michael was a professional musician and university professor for 30 years. He has navigated through a long path of Buddhistic practice, shamanic studies, and all sorts of personal growth and healing processes. All these experiences inform his teachings and turn them into a holistic approach of self care, wellness and growth.

  • The Journeys We Make Through Grief & Illness To Get Back To Life

    — Trauma, of any kind, can create bizarre worlds. Worlds that become even stranger when the mind that creates them is ill. It can be hard to find a way through, back to a place where people can reach in and find you. Kathryn's book , The Things We Left Sleeping, is her attempt to explain that journey.

Valeria interviews Kathryn Lund — She is the author of "The Things We Left Sleeping."

Kathryn Lund lives in York in the north of England. Her work is often an exploration of a world experienced through a neurodivergent brain. Her novel, The Things We Left Sleeping, was a Shelf Unbound Indie Top 100 for 2022. She has a book of short stories, The Things We Keep In The Cupboard, which she wrote for her MA in Creative Writing. She was awarded the Blackwell Prize in Creative Writing for her postgraduate work.

Kathryn uses her writing to platform speaking about mental health, chronic illness and living with invisible disability. She is renovating a house which, when it stops looking like a building site, her girlfriend is promised to move in to.

  • Anxiety Must Be Treated As A Physical Condition First

    — "Anxiety is insidious because it fools you into believing that there is something wrong with you mentally or emotionally, and that is what causes the problem. Think of something that is insidious as having the ability to hide either what is causing your problem, or something that is necessary for you to understand it. This is exactly what happens when the anxiety takes over your life. That insidious part of this infuriating internal nemesis is that, even though you can feel it ravaging your body, you misinterpret its driving force as something that is created in your brain. It is so important to monitor what the rest of your body is doing to fully understand both the cause of this condition, and the route you must take to return to health and peace." - Faust

Valeria interviews Faust Ruggiero — He is the author of "The Fix Yourself Handbook: Using the Process Way of Life to Transform Your Life into a Happy, Healthy Journey and The Fix Your Anxiety Handbook: Bringing You Out of the Darkness and into a Brilliant New World."

Faust Ruggiero is a published research author, clinical trainer, and a therapist who has worked in settings that have included clinics for deaf children, prisons, nursing homes, substance abuse centers, inpatient facilities, and major corporations, both national and international. He is the president of the Community Psychological Center in Bangor, Pennsylvania. He was part of a team that developed the counseling program for drunk drivers that became the prototype for the state of Pennsylvania and is still being used in many other states. He continues to provide counseling services for individuals, couples, families, veterans, first responders, law enforcement, and other emergency personnel. He has taught at the college level and is published in several research journals.

He has been in private practice at the Community Psychological Center, in Bangor, Pennsylvania, for more than thirty years, specializing in individual, family, substance abuse, women's issues, and marital/couples counseling. During that time, he developed the Process Way of Life and has used it with over 2,000 of his clients, helping them to realize and unleash the power they have inside themselves. With the Process Way of Life being so successful as a counseling program, Mr. Ruggiero decided to develop the process-based journey into a written text.

The approach underwent several years of research and program design so that it could effectively be communicated in written form. The goal is to help people understand how to present their problems in a way that helps them understand them. His program, then, provides people with the exact steps to fix those problems. The Process Way of Life is presented in The Fix Yourself Handbook, published in 2019. The book has received literary awards from Literary Titan, The Nonfiction Writer's Association, and IndieReader. Mr. Ruggiero has appeared on television, radio shows, and podcasts, nationally and internationally, to discuss the Process Way of Life presented in The Fix Yourself Handbook. His radio show—Fix It With Faust—debuted in June 2021, and The Fix Your Anxiety Handbook, the second installment of The Fix Yourself Empowerment Series.

  • Genuine Foundation for Long Term Fulfillment & A Life Worth Living

    — We all want to be "happy." As parents, we want the same for our children, but are we after the wrong thing? It is interesting to note that even when we attain happiness or contentment, it is usually temporary, especially if we associate it with acquiring something. In the end, the reward is short-lived.

Continuous pursuit of happiness may also lead to a cycle of pursuit, short-term reward, and then back to pursuit. In addition to being unfulfilling, it is ultimately exhausting, and it can lead to disappointments and frustrations.

Research suggests that this is true, but what might be an alternative that could be more effective?

Valeria interviews Dr. Wallace K. Pond — He is the author of "The Lights Are On, Is Anybody Home? Education in America and Leadership in the Real World: Hard Won Lessons from 20 Years As a Chief Executive in Turbulent"

He has served as chancellor, president, COO, CEO, CAO (Chief Academic Officer), and board member, bringing exceptional value as a strategic-servant leader through extensive experience and acumen in strategic planning, transformational change, change management, crisis management/turn around, organizational design and development, P&L, human capital development, innovation, new programs, and deep operational expertise among other areas of impact.

He has recently added psychotherapy to his practice and provides counseling services as an LPC intern under supervision.

Wallace began his career as a high school teacher and adjunct professor and spent six years in the elementary and secondary classroom working primarily with at-risk youth. He was also a public-school administrator and spent another six years as a full time professor and administrator in the not-for-profit higher education sector, working in both on campus and online education, bringing education to underserved students.
