Let's go through the questions.

The first question I have is, "Brendan, should I sell on Ebay or should I sell in Amazon?"

Well, that's a great question. The answer for me generally is to advise you guys to do both. I want you to sell on eBay and I want you to sell on Amazon. Remember, Amazon will ship your goods directly to the customer if they're an eBay customer if they're Shopify customer, whatever they are, Amazon will take care of it for you. So they that is very, very awesome.

They do a thing called FBA and you can have someone come and buy from Shopify and then you can ship it directly out to them from Amazon and Amazon don't give a sheet who it is you're shipping to or who you're selling to.

No, Amazon will not put the labels on for you. They are interested in just storing it and shipping it and charging a fee for the customer, charging a fee for your monthly membership fee and charge you a fee for the picking, packing storage and shipping out.

Hi Brendan, should I select multiple products of different categories or one category? On Amazon you know, I like to generally go a quarter of an inch wide and eight miles deep filled with products. That's how I like to do it.

So it's very important to you that instead of a little bit of this, a little bit of this, a little bit of that speakers, bookshelves, paperclips, sewing machines to stick with one category because that's really good when you're up in a Shopify store. You start to link, your customers can buy multiple things.

However, if you can find three products in three categories and all that sellers than do that too. Definitely, since Amazon came, there's more of an argument for going wide instead of deep, but generally, my strategy is always to try to stick to a category and run with it because then you could build a brand and that brand will be reinforced across multiple categories.

Next is from the guy named Francis, who says, "When I order my products from China, how do I inform Amazon that my products are on the way? What period should I give Amazon before I order my products or before they're transported to Amazon?"

That's a great question. So you go into your seller central account and you tell Amazon the amount of stock you have, and they'll tell you exactly what they want where. Then you order it and you ship it directly where Amazon will receive it and then they will put them into their warehouse and that doesn't take too long.

So you know what I usually do? I buy the product in China, ship it over to America. Once they are in America, that's when I let Amazon know when it's inside there and then I ship it directly from there. They don't know what the goods are still in China. Just in case there are delays.

So the first question is from Rajiv Sharma. Rajiv asks, "Hello, Brendan from Melbourne."

I've seen a few people selling their product to $6, but the delivery cost is $7 in Australia. How are they selling on and was it a lucrative price?

I don't know, is the short answer. Often if it's coming from China, the Chinese factories often have subsidized products from the US and from China or from their factory and from Hong Kong. So that's sometimes how they're doing it. The Chinese government give subsidies for the post and that's how often they can compete and ship it.

I live in Bondai, something coming from Northwell right to Bondi can be more expensive than shipping it from China all the way to Australia. And that is the case sometimes, but that's more for eBay, with Amazon, you can't really do that, right? Because the Amazon need it in their warehouse before they let you sell it, right? So it's not gonna screw you on Amazon but it's gonna screw you on eBay.

So next question I have from the pre-asked questions is from Richard, who ask Brendan, step by step logistics from supplier to FBA Warehouse rate to sell customers, including who and when the labels need to be applied.

So you get the product from the factory in China, you get them to put the labels on it and then you ship it directly from Amazon.

They have two choices. Option one is you send it to someone in America to just double check everything's okay and it's packed correctly for Amazon's specifications. You send it to America, receive it there is a third party warehouse. I have one in New Jersey, which I do. And then you get that and then you ship that out to FBA warehouse. And the next step is Amazon list it and sells it for you.

Now some people will ship it directly from China to the Amazon warehouse. You can do that. My recommendation is you get them to do the labelling, check it, but you do that the second or third time, not the first time because if Amazon receives it and nothing's a, you have to change something, it's going to be very, very hard for you do it in America or Australia, then over there.

That's the logistical process. If you want to get the labels, you don't know how that works, our members have a training on labels. If you don't have access to that training, then you just go to your seller central account and Amazon give you the labels which you would use you, you stick on your products and then it's covered for Amazon and they're happy.

Very simple to find the biggest selling on Amazon, go to Amazon.com, look at the BSR ranking.

The BSR ranking, the best seller rating is a really, really low number, like one or 100 or thousand, that's great.

If it's 10,000, 20,000, 30,000, it's not.

And remember the best seller on Amazon are per category specific.

So you could always go and have a look in each category and see what the number one seller of each product is and that's how you should play it.

From Rebecca, who ask Brendan, "Do I need a unique product idea to be successful or is it having a popular product out upon me at a competitive price available at any local market?"

It's both. My method is, is like an A to Z Formula. You follow this, this, this, this and this.

And if you have a bunch of products, some of them will do extremely well, some will do okay. We'll know too, even up to all the researches that work. And that's the nature of the game. But there's a safety in numbers and you have the law of averages to support you.

It's very important that you do that.

And something I would very much recommend that you do follow the system that we teach in finding your product, making sure there's margin and go from there.

But if you could have a unique selling product as well, even better.

Most people don't have that neck, all that creativity.

So they have to go formula.

It's up to you, how you want to play.

I like to generally just play in bringing a product I like, but sometimes I do put a spin on it as well.

It's really up to you.

Chris says, "Brendan, how to ship less than container load by sea without incurring unexpected charges on arrival?"

This is a good one.

The first way to avoid unexpected charges shipping is to ship by air.

Generally, if something's by air, you know the costs upfront.

If you ship it by sea, there's always gonna be these charges.

What you do is you use a freight forwarder and you ask them to disclose all of the charges and all of the possible charges so you know ahead of time.

If you ask them to share it with you, they will.

Also, you should control the freight, not with the Chinese factory.

You need to use your shipping agent because that way there won't be surprised.

And so my trick is to use the shipping agent.

Next is a cool question, I really liked this one.

This is from Cami who says, "Why doesn't Amazon import and sell themselves?"

Well, guess what, they do?

It's just like Coles and Woolworths.

If you go there, you'll see Mars bar, Snickers bar then they have Jupiter and then they have Galaxy bar.

And if you eat it, like you'd be hard-pressed like you have a blindfold to say which one is better or which one was which, but they do and they gonna continue to do this.

The thing is, you just have to have something creative.

For example, Louis Vuitton, if that was selling products on Amazon, Amazon could come and get into the handbag market in Louis Vuitton will appeal because they have a brand.

So if you have a cool product that is a brand or patent or a trademark item then Amazon can't compete with you but yes they will.

They do bring in their own products.

They do sell their own products out.

But even places like Walmart will need, and Target and Kmart and all that.

They need an outside party to come up with fresh ideas and products.

This work in a bit of a chunk into the market but the thing is, if you're in a product that Amazon cannot compete with then you need those multiple products, not just one.

That's very important.
