A Winner Is You

I died once... but not before I'd listened to the final main instalment of the 5th annual Summer of Resi - it's the Wii 'light gun' shooter, The Umbrella Chronicles.

We chat about the scenarios in the game that cover Resident Evil 0, 1, 2, 3 and then an exclusive finale to take down Umbrella 'once and for all'. It's not a bad game at all, but can it trouble anything other than one place above Resi 6 in our rankings? Listen and find out.

Up next is a bonus Summer of Resi episode covering the new movie out on 18th September, so get down to your local cinema and come back to hear our thoughts!

Say hi @winnerisyou on BlueSky, check us out on YouTube or TikTok, follow us on RankOne as a pod, or individually as SuperSmillie and Thrillex.

In the summer time when the Resi is... fine. Just fine. We're basically through every mainline entry in the series now, so 2026 marks the beginning of our journey into the lower echelons of the Resident Evil pantheon.

We're starting with a pretty good one, though, as Resi Revelations is a 3DS technical marvel with an awesome spooky ship setting that's somewhat marred by shoehorned action nonsense, terrible writing and some truly insufferable twats.

We talk development, gameplay, story, characters, enemies, bosses, the map, and loads more - plus we rank it amongst every other Resi we've covered on the pod so far.

Come say hi to us @winnerisyou on BlueSky or @winnerisyoupod on Twitter, and we'll see you soon for Summer of Resi part 2.

We've finally wrapped up our N64 30th anniversary celebrations, as we run through the final two years of its life and bring you our individual top 10 greatest games on the system.

Yes, there's some crossover, and yes, we both obviously have Banjo and Diddy Kong Racing in there. It's us, after all. Will either of them top our lists? Listen to find out.

See you next episode for the 5th annual Summer of Resi!

26th June 2026 marks 30 years since the Nintendo 64 launched in Japan, and Alex went so mad with the pod format for one of his seminal console that we've had to cut the pod into two parts!

We're taking you on a journey through every year of the console's life cycle (including some bonus prerequisite pre-release chat) from 1996-2001, with the key developments and news, plus our thoughts on the key games.

We'll culminate the pod in the very near future with the same for 2000-2001, and finish everything off with our own personal top 10 games lists. Tune in for that in a few weeks.

Tell us your favourite N64 games on BlueSky @winnerisyou, and check out what we're up to on RankOne - SuperSmillie and Thrillex.

The Contrabulous Fabtraption of Professor Geoff Keighley has ended its sixth year, and we are here to pick its bones dry. Bones we didn't always enjoy, but that's because we're grumpy old gits.

We talk about the highs and the many, many lows of Summer Game Fest 2026, capping it off with our individual top games announced (or shown again) over the course of the week - taking in anything from State of Play, Xbox Showcase, SGF itself, and Nintendo Direct.

For Castlevania's 40th anniversary year, we simply had to cover some 'Vania games, and what better than two of the series' best - Aria and Dawn of Sorrow on the GBA and DS respectively.

These two classics get as close in quality to the inimitable Symphony of the Night as any other game has, but do either of them top that masterpiece? Better listen to find out.

Say hi to us on BlueSky @winnerisyou, and check us out on RankOne to see what we're currently playing. David is SuperSmillie, Alex is THRILLEX, and the pod is AWinnerIsYou. This pod is also on YouTube if you'd rather watch things - just search A Winner is You Podcast and we'll show up.

2026 marks 25 years since the Dreamcast was discontinued and Sega left the video game hardware business behind forever. That doesn't mean they didn't bow out with an absolute banger of a console, though, so we're here to celebrate its legacy.

We talk about its conception at a bereft and struggling Sega, its development, problems, and eventual downfall. We also each run through our own personal top 5 games on the system, and talk hidden gems and honourable mentions.

It's a must for all Dreamcast heads, although probably not if you're ride or die for Shenmue or Sonic Adventure. Sorry.

Say hi to us @winnerisyou on BlueSky, check out the video version of the pod on YouTube if you prefer faces to... audio waves, and look at us on TikTok if you have no attention span. If you search us, we will come.

Our pal KDB returns to get draftin' and he's aiming for two victories in a row for the first time. Can he do it? Can he do it without colluding with David to screw over Alex? Find out, as the lads draft 10 games each from 2013 and aim for the highest total Metacritic score.

Come with us if you want to hear a podcast. We may have missed our self-imposed March deadline but it'll have been worth the wait.

We chat about two of the greatest sci-fi action movies of all time in The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Which is the better movie? Why have all the subsequent ones sucked shiny metal balls?

Part two of the pod is focussed on 2025's throwback action platorfmer from Bitmap Bureau - Terminator 2D: No Fate.

Don't forget to rate the pod and share with your pals so they can be our pals too. Say hi to us @winnerisyoupod on Twitter or @winnerisyou on BlueSky

It's not Summer of Resi yet, but there's no way we're waiting that long to play the latest Resident Evil banger from Capcom.

We talk through the game's different areas, try and work out the story, marvel at the fan service, ponder where the series goes next and, of course, stick it in our ongoing Resident Evil ranking.
