A Winner Is You

As we finish off playing Resident Evil: Requiem for the next pod, let's get our teeth stuck into one of most unique and harrowing video games ever made.

A warning: this pod is almost exclusively spoilers for No, I'm Not a Human. Make sure you spend the pocket change and play this unforgettable game before you listen to the pod.

We talk our favourite house guests, moments, endings, and also have a few criticisms here and there.

Say hi @winnerisyoupod on Twitter or @winnerisyou on BlueSky and we'll see you next time for new Resi!

KDB returns to fight the good fight for the highest-scoring video games from 1996 as we get drafting once again.

It's an absolutely stellar year, but the threat of steals and kills of draft picks hangs heavy over our intrepid drafters. Will David's lead at the top of the league become insurmountable or will KDB finally get another win?

As a bonus, there's also the 2026 draft, where we each pick five upcoming games (one can be dropped at any time before release) to see who'll have a bonus league point by the end of the year.

Six more games on the Nintendo Switch Online service - three from the SNES and three from the Mega Drive - were randomly drawn back in episode 118, and now they've come to collect.

We played through Gunstar Heroes, MUSHA and Virtua Fighter 2 on the Mega Drive/Genesis, and Operation Logic Bomb, Spanky's Quest and Star Fox 2 on the SNES. Now we're here to discuss them and stick them in our tier list.

For info, the tier list before this episode was:

S - Wild Guns (SNES)

A - Shinobi III (MD), F-Zero (SNES), Earthworm Jim (MD)

B - Kirby's Dreamland 3 (SNES)

C - Comix Zone (MD), Battle Toads (SNES), Psycho Dream (SNES), Strider (MD)

D - Target Earth (MD), Claymates (SNES), Space Harrier 2 (MD)

Come say hi to us on Twitter or BlueSky @winnerisyoupod and we'll see you next episode for the 1996 Video Game Draft!

Join us for a three-hour extravaganza to celebrate and denigrate the best and worst of video games in 2025.

It's a little bit different, and more traditional, this year, as we're talking almost entirely about games that came out in the year, rather than just sticking to what we covered on the pod.

Categories are:

• Best pickup (a little bit of bragging about whatever random tat we bought last year)
• Best Story
• Best Gameplay
• Best Surprise
• 7/10-est 7/10
• Best Old Game
• Best Game We Didn't Finish
• Biggest Disappointment
• Best Podcast Game
• Most Mid
• Best Game
• Most Aniticpated 2026 Game

Enjoy! Lets us know your best game of 2025 over on Twitter or BlueSky @winnerisyou and we'll see you in the next episode for SNES/Mega Drive Roulette part 3!

We've already recorded our GOTY 2025 pod, but it'd be remiss of us to deny you this forgotten (by Alex, the dozy twat) episode from last November.

To celebrate what was the PS2's 25th anniversary in 2025, we both created our own Top 10 lists of games on the platform. It's wall-to-wall bangers and the lists are pretty different!

Come say hi on Twitter or BlueSky @winnerisyou and we'll see you for GOTY.

Merry Christmas, everyone! Our treat to you this year is the start of a new to-be-annual tradition where we've created an awards show with a twist.

There are nine categories, from best game and best visuals to most disappointing and worst ageing, that must be filled by games from 1995, 2005 and 2015 - 30, 20 and 10 years ago respectively. There's a bonus spot for a 1985 game if we deem it worthy.

The only other rule is that there can be no more than three games for each of the three years, as much as 2005 could fill way more than that!

Join us in celebrating these anniversary games, and we'll see you (hopefully) before the end of the year with the 'forgotten episode' of our Top 10 PS2 Games that Alex completely forgot to edit! Sorry!

Say hi to us @winnerisyoupod on Twitter and BlueSky, and have a wonderful holiday x

It's the final draft of 2025, so we decided to introduce some new rules - each player gets one kill and one steal each. Any game can be stolen, and any game can be killed (stolen ones are subsequently untouchable).

How will these new rules affect the game? Will David finally lose? Will KDB finally win? The result is a good podcast, whatever happens!

Say hi @winnerisyoupod on Twitter or BlueSky and we'll see you next time for our Christmas special!

This week marks the 25th anniversary of the PlayStation 2's European launch. To celebrate, we played every (except that really long JRPG for obvious reasons) launch game and we're going to rank them in a tier list with D being absolute stinkers, and S being the cream of the crop.

The games are:

Aqua Aqua, Dynasty Warriors 2, Fantavision, FIFA 2001, Gradius III and IV, International Superstar Soccer, NHL 2001, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2, Ridge Racer V, Silent Scope, Smuggler's Run, SSX, Tekken Tag Tournament, TimeSplitters, and Wild Wild Racing.

Something for everyone, you surely agree! Are any of them good, though? We all know Wild Wil Racing is the drizzling shits, but can any game grab the sacred S tier?

Come say hi @winnerisyoupod over on Twitter or BlueSky - tell us your favourite PS2 launch game, whydontcha? We're keeping the PS2 party going next episode with our individual top 10 games of all time. See you then!

We're going way further back in time for this draft as part of a new yearly bonus episode where we draft from 30 years ago. 1995 is first (1996 next year, obvs) and, by god, getting reliable scores for these games is a reet ballache.

So, apologies for the messy caluclations, but there's still plenty to enjoy as KDB joins us for drafting fun once again - who can get the best total score for their 10 games from '95?

Or Project Zero II if you prefer names that are worse. That's right, it's Halloween and it's time to send off this year's Spooktoberfest with Tecmo's PS2 horror classic.

Get out your camera obscuras, hold your twin sister's hand and keep your calendar free for a bloody ritual or two (in case the first one fails) as we dive deep into the game's setting, story, gameplay, atmosphere, Wii remake and much more.
