The Detroit Lions came out early and took the opening kickoff straight down the field to start the scoring on the afternoon. The Philadelphia Eagles slowly got their legs underneath them and started to take control of the game through the 3rd quarter. The Eagles were up by 17 points twice in the 3rd quarter only to see the Lions fight back and make this game a lot closer than any fan wanted it to be for a Week 1 game.
