A2D Radio

The Philadelphia Flyers announced yesterday that they signed Swedish Forward Oscar Eklind. The 25-year-old, 6 foot-4 inch, 220-pound winger signed a 1-year deal with the Flyers starting in the 2024/2025 season. He is coming off a season where he played for Lulea HF of the Swedish Hockey League. Eklind led the team in a few stats for Lulea including Goals, Hits, Powerplay Goals, and Penalty Minutes. Will Oscar Eklind find ways to help the offense and even improve the Power Play next season?

Within the last 24 hours, the Flyers' upper brass have come out and admitted that they were expecting to lose Carter Hart at some point this season. This saga has been quite the story as details have spilled out. It definitely hasn't turned out the way the Flyers wanted it to. What makes this situation tolerable is the fact they have goalies in the pipeline who are ready to continue their development within the Flyers organization. John Tortorella has put all his faith in Ersson saying, “I made the decision that I’m gonna live or die with Errs when I played him all those games.” Did Torts make the right call by deciding to “live or die'' with Ersson?

Which defensive prospects do we want the Eagles to target the most in the upcoming NFL Draft?

For those who still want to upgrade at the linebacker position, Edgerrin Cooper is a popular name that consistently gets mentioned. Should he be one of the top priorities for the Eagles? What other names would you like to see them draft?

Your Eagles Talk hosts will also discuss when to expect a new contract for DeVonta Smith and what it would look like. We’ll also ask the question if you could only prioritize one Eagles WR long-term, who would it be: DeVonta Smith or AJ Brown?

When asked about their effort, John Tortorella was emphatic in his answer.“Soft,” he said. “One guy played: the goalie.” The Flyers are 6 games away from wrapping up their season. They continue to battle for a Playoff Spot in the Metro but seem to have hit a bump in the road coming down the stretch. The record for the Flyers are 0-3-2 in their last 5 games. The upside is the defense is finally starting to get healthy. What is happening to this team right now that they seem to be struggling down the stretch?

Ivan Fedotov’s long awaited Flyers debut has finally happened. The Flyers 7th Round Pick in 2015 entered the game against the New York Islanders in the 2nd period of the game. Starter Sam Ersson was pulled after a tough first where he gave up 2 goals on 6 shots. Fedotov did make 19 saves on 21 shots for a .905% Save Percentage in 38:09 TOI. What was the overall impression of Ivan Fedotov’s NHL Debut?

Both Bryce Huff and Nolan Smith have big shoes to fill now after the Eagles traded their star edge rusher, Haason Reddick, to the New York Jets. What is your confidence level in them heading into this upcoming season? Will they, along with Josh Sweat, be able to produce enough in Reddick’s absence? Your hosts here at Eagles Talk will discuss the outlook of the Eagles’ edge rusher corps now.

Piggybacking off of that, they’ll also dive into some of the edge prospects in this year’s draft. Names like Laiatu Latu and Chop Robinson are very popular amongst the Eagles fan base. If the Eagles are considering taking an edge rusher early, which one would you prefer? Or would you prefer them to not take one early?

And don’t forget, as always, former Eagles beat writer and journalist Les Bowen will join the conversation for our weekly “Bowen on the Birds” segment!

Joel Embiid’s return to the Philadelphia 76ers lineup is pending.  Embiid has been a full participant in the team's most recent practices.  Tyrese Maxey, left hip tightness, will miss tonight’s game against the Toronto Raptors.  The Philadelphia Phillies avoided the dreaded opening series sweep by defeating the Atlanta Braves 5-4.  Kyle Schwarber hit his first home run of the season and Alec Bohm drove in two runs in the seventh inning to push the Phillies past the Braves.  The Phillies welcome in the Cincinnati Reds for a series to start the week.

The Sixers are still a threat in the Eastern Conference with the return of Joel Embiid.  Join the fellas and let them know if you Agree or Disagree.  The guys will also give their live reactions to the second half of the Sixers vs Raptors game.  The panel will look back the Phillies opening series against the Braves and look forward to the Reds coming to town.  Finally the guys will end the show as they always do with their Crumb of the Week segment.

After months of speculation and anticipation, Jade Cargill finally makes her first appearance as a Smackdown superstar. With this appearance being just 1 week before WrestleMania, will the former AEW TBS Champion find herself with a match on the grandest stage of them all? Cargill posted on X earlier that “ Weather reports say a Storm is Coming”, what does this mean for the Smackdown Women’s division? Could she end up teaming with Bianca Belair and Naomi to take on Damage CTRL? Or will there be a different path to greatness for Cargill?

WrestleMania is one week from Saturday and as of this writing, we still do not know which matches will end up on which night.  Things that are for certain  the tag team match between Roman Reigns and The Rock vs Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins will happen on Night 1 while the championship matches between Roman and Cody and Seth and Drew McIntyre will take place on Night 2.
