The Western Australian premier says the government will provide assistance to those affected by Tropical Cyclone Narelle.

The system caused extensive damage to parts of W-A's north west, with the town of Exmouth facing the full force of the category four cyclone.

Roger Cook says people affected can apply for an emergency relief payment.

The system has now moved out to sea, and crews are assessing the damage.

The Pentagon is preparing for weeks of ground ​operations ‌in Iran, according to a report by the Washington Post newspaper.

The report, citing U-S officials, says the plans ‌could involve ⁠raids by special operations and conventional ‌infantry troops.

The Post says it's unclear if President Donald Trump would approve any of the plans.

His administration ⁠has deployed thousands of Marines to ‌the Middle East as the war against Iran enters its ‌fifth ​week, and is planning to send thousands more from the elite ⁠82nd Airborne Division to the region.

The Times newspaper in the U-K is reporting a man ​has been arrested after a number ​pedestrians ‌were struck by a car ‌in ⁠the centre the East Midlands city of Derby.

The report quoting police says some victims were ⁠seriously ‌injured and treated at ‌the scene by ‌ambulance ​crews ⁠before being taken to hospital.

The worsening fuel crisis will be the focus of an emergency meeting of state and territory leaders this afternoon.

The meeting will coordinate a universal response ahead of tomorrow's National Cabinet with the Prime Minister.

The move could put further pressure on the global economy - if the group attacks civilian shipping in the Red Sea.

Israel says it's prepared to open a new front in the war, and it will protect its civilians.

Pakistan's Foreign Minister says they've reached an agreement with Iran to allow 20 Pakistani-flagged vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Posting to social media, Ishaq Dar says two ships will be allowed to transit the Strait each day.

Iranian threats to attack ships in the Strait have all but blocked the vital waterway, leading to a spike in oil prices and sparking concerns about global fuel supplies.

Yemen's Iran backed Houthi rebels say they've launched a second missile attack on Israel, and are vowing to continue military operations in the coming days.

After the first attack on the southern Israeli city of Beersheba the group announced it was targeting sensitive military sites.

But Israeli military spokesperson, Brigadier General Effie Defrin, says they're ready for the Houthi attacks.

Meanwhile, three journalists have been killed in an Israeli airstike in southern Lebanon.

The Bureau of Meteorology says ex-tropical cyclone Narelle has now moved out to sea off Western Australia's southern coast.

The system has hovered over Australia's north and north west for the best part of two weeks, causing significant damage across Queensland, the Northern Territory and northern W-A.

W-A's Gascoyne coast was the final region to bear the brunt of the system, and authorities there are working to restore power and water services.

Thousands of rallies against US President Donald Trump and his administration have taken place, stretching from Washington DC and Texas...to Paris and Rome.

The demonstrators are opposing the US government's expansion of executive power and are calling for the impeachment of Mr Trump and key members of his administration.

It's the third time in less than a year that people have taken to the streets under the banner No Kings.

Specialist crews are on their way to Exmouth, in Western Australia's north, to restore power and water after tropical cyclone Narelle tore through the region at category four strength.

Exmouth bore the brunt of the storm and has been largely cut-off with roads flooded and the airport sustaining extensive damage.

The Bureau of Meteorology's Angus Hines says the system has now moved out to sea.

The Iranian-backed Houthi rebels say their attacks on Israel will continue, after the group officially joined the Middle East war.

The Yemeni group fired its first missiles into Israel on Saturday local time.

The Houthis are also able to destabilise shipping routes in the Red Sea - they say they're ready to attack maritime vessels, and cause even more global economic pain

Massive demonstrations against the Trump administration are taking place across the United States and around the world, in what's being dubbed the 'No Kings' rallies.

One of the biggest rallies has been held in the state of Minnesota where two U-S citizens were killed by federal immigration agents in the city of Minneapolis in January.

In a statement, the White House says the demonstrations were created by "leftist funding networks".
