We see rebellion all around us... from the child who puts their foot down in disobedience to their parents, to the adult in prison who refuses to comply with the laws of the land. We even see rebellion applauded on t.v., and in the music of the day. But unrighteous rebellion is far from encouraged in the Scriptures! In fact, as we’ll see today, there are destructive consequences that come to those that would go down that road.

When someone hurts us deeply it would be easy for us to turn against them, never speak to them again and even harbor bitterness in our hearts. But today on Abounding Grace we’ll learn a much better response, and that is to forgive. We see this played out before our eyes in Second Samuel nineteen, as David forgives Shimmei.
