Abounding Grace on Oneplace.com

Many of us have wondered what heaven is going to be like, and Scripture gives us just enough to whet our appetite! But imagine what it would be like to be taken on up to heaven, for a look around, but not being able to tell others about it. Such was the case for the apostle Paul, and we’ll hear about this experience as we turn in our Bibles to Second Corinthians chapter twelve.

Today on Abounding Grace we notice the great sacrifice that came with being an apostle. And it’s a reminder to us of the great cost attached to ministry. Pastor Ed Taylor opens Second Corinthians eleven and if we had to sum up the latter half of the chapter in a word, it would be sacrifice! As we recall the apostle Paul’s spiritual resume, you’ll quickly realize sacrifice and difficulty were a big part of it.

Today on Abounding Grace we’ll have you think about your spiritual resume! Maybe like the guy we’ll meet today, it’s not that impressive by the world’s standards. But be encouraged, God can still very much use you. We join pastor Ed Taylor in First Corinthians chapter eleven.

I think it’s safe to say we’ve all been fooled by someone. They portrayed themselves as one thing, and turned out to be someone entirely different! And that can be really hurtful. As we’ll discover today, there are also wolves in sheep’s clothing that enter into the church. If we’re not careful they can rip us off, and hinder the work God wants to do through His church. So how do we spot them? Pastor Ed will help us with that as we turn back to Second Corinthians chapter eleven.

Today we’ll continue our series though Second Corinthians with an important message about false teachers. Every message based on the words of the bible is important, but in the day and age we live in, warnings about false teachers is especially important. They are everywhere today, and the deceptions are sometimes very subtle. But they are also very dangerous.
