When someone is about to die, and know it’s coming, typically they want to share what’s on their heart with those they love. And those last words can be deeply meaningful to those left behind. In today’s study of Genesis chapter 48 we are approaching the end of Jacob’s life. He’s at a much different place here at the end of the road, when compared to his early years. He’s no longer the deceiver, manipulator! It stands out as a reminder that our spiritual growth is slow and steady.

As followers of Christ we can look back over the years and see how God has provided for us where’s He’s guided us. He has a wonderful way of doing that. Here on the weekends we’ve been discussing the nine manifestations of the Spirit, layed out for us in First Corinthians twelve. So there you are visiting with a friend, and the Lord impresses on your heart to speak a word into their life and situation. Right away you’re thinking, well this is a bit awkward or uncomfortable. While that may be the case, we’ll learn today that as we’re open to this manifestation of the Spirit, prophecy, God can accomplish great things.
