Abounding Grace on Oneplace.com

Consider with us the greatness, goodness, and faithfulness of God today on Abounding Grace. We’re studying the life of Moses right now as we continue through Exodus. We’ll be listening in on a conversation between Moses and the Lord. Moses said to God, “Suppose I got to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your Fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” You’re about to hear what God says to Moses in reply and it conveys to us something important about His nature and character!

As we turn the calendar today I can’t think of a better thing to do than study the Word, and specifically the names of God. We’ll frame today’s message around Exodus 3:14 where God says to Moses, “I am who I am!” And through this great declaration we learn something powerful about God’s character and nature.

Pastor Ed Taylor will continue our new series in Exodus today. We’ve titled this message, “Excuses, Excuses!” As that’s really what we find Moses doing with God here in chapter three. God had called and chosen him, but Moses is full of excuses, questioning God’s decision. Maybe you can relate to that on some level?

When God calls will you accept the charges? Today on Abounding Grace we’ll hear of the call on Moses’ life that was met with excuses rather than obedience and surrender. If we’re not careful we can fall into that same trap.

We’ll be continuing our new study in Exodus with another visit to chapter two. You’ll soon hear about the early years of Moses. He was delivered, and prepared by God to be the deliverer. But today we also find him acting out in the flesh, something we’re all prone to! Through it all we’ll be encouraged to follow the Lord in the Spirit, rather than the flesh.

Many of us have wondered what heaven is going to be like, and Scripture gives us just enough to whet our appetite! But imagine what it would be like to be taken on up to heaven, for a look around, but not being able to tell others about it. Such was the case for the apostle Paul, and we’ll hear about this experience as we turn in our Bibles to Second Corinthians chapter twelve.

Today on Abounding Grace we’ll introduce you to a courageous woman who was willing to do whatever it took to spare the life of a baby. Even when her very own life was on the line for doing so! She trusted God rather than fear man.

Today we return to our study in Exodus with another stop in chapter one. Deliverance is on the way for the children of Israel, and the same can be said of you, if you find yourself in bondage today. We’ll see the way out is found in Christ and obedience to God’s Word.
