If you’ll recall we’ve been hearing about the rule and reign of King Hezekiah. He was a good and godly King, and God is about to heal him of his sickness and give him 15 more years of life. But like many of us, he makes a big mistake that’s rooted in pride. He failed to bring something before the Lord, and paid dearly for it. Let’s see what we can learn from this common mistake today on the program.

You can probably think of someone that was very diligent to get things in order before they passed away. They had their living trust or will all in place, their finances were in order, and they were in a right relationship with God too. Then there are those that put all of that off, and enter into eternity totally unprepared. I’m sure you can identify some people in your life that are really good and godly examples. People who are following Christ and living to honor the Lord. Then there are also quite a number of people around us that are really bad examples. As we turn together to Second Kings eighteen we’ll notice that King Hezekiah followed a very good example, and Pastor Ed will encourage us to do the same.

The Lord has given the Christian a great amount of liberty but as we’re learning in First Corinthians we need to learn how to handle them in a God-glorifying way. Just as it was in the city of Corinth there are a good number of people today planting themselves way to close to sin and the world, all in the name of liberty. The problem is, overtime it becomes very easy to cross the line and before you know it you’re referring to sin as a liberty.
