Our human bodies steadily grow from birth and the average person stops growing by the time they’re twenty. Though we do stop growing physically, we should never stop growing spiritually. As we’ll see in our study today on Abounding Grace, God desires for us to be healthy and mature believers, displaying the love of Christ with knowledge and understanding.

If you’ve received Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, that’s wonderful. Your salvation is secure and you’re on your way to heaven. But did you realize, you’ll still give an account for your life and stand before the Bema Seat Judgment of Christ? This is not regarding your salvation, but rather eternal rewards. And today on Abounding Grace, pastor Ed Taylor helps us get ready. He wants us to consider three things in light of the Bema Seat, found in Second Corinthians five.

Heaven in not simply a destination - for the Christian it’s a motivation. That’s what the apostle Paul wanted the Corinthian Church to know and believe. In Second Corinthians chapter five, we are reminded that we all will give an account to the Lord for the things that we’ve done on earth even believers. That ought to inspire us to make it our goal to please the Lord.

The first century church of Corinth certainly had its fair share of problems... lawsuits, division, fighting, immorality, and mistakes were occurring left and right. In light of all of this, it’s interesting to note Paul’s approach to them as he introduces First Corinthians. He was thankful, hopeful, and focused on who they were in Christ as well as God’s grace. Today on Abounding Grace we visit First Corinthians chapter one.
