You can probably think of someone that was very diligent to get things in order before they passed away. They had their living trust or will all in place, their finances were in order, and they were in a right relationship with God too. Then there are those that put all of that off, and enter into eternity totally unprepared. Today on Abounding Grace we’ll see the importance of getting our house in order, as we really never know when that day will come when God calls us home.

Today on Abounding Grace Pastor Ed Taylor is going to talk about what the Bible has to say about death, and how it’s an enemy, but through the finished work of Jesus on the cross, He has overcome sin and death in our lives. With that in mind we can be confident that our last breath on earth, we’ll instantly be in the presence of God, if we’re a believer in Christ.

Should I really go see that movie? Can I have a glass of wine with dinner? You can probably think of a number of questions you wrestle with from time to time, similar to these. As believers, we know that we have an incredible amount of freedom. But, there are some things that while they may be permissible, have the potential to stumble a brother or sister in the Lord or even mislead an unbeliever! The apostle Paul said that all things are permissible, but not all things are helpful. Today on Abounding Grace we’re urged to keep our focus on the glory of God. And Pastor Ed Taylor will give us several questions we can ask as we walk through the grey areas of life.

Unless the rapture occurs during our lifetime, we’ll all face the enemy of death. But we don’t need to do so in fear. We can have a glorious hope to cling to. Today on Abounding Grace we’ll hear an encouraging lesson about Christians dying. It’s not something you hear a lot about these days, but it is important. Maybe you’ve experienced the death of a loved one recently, or are contemplating your own mortality? Be encouraged as you study along with Pastor Ed Taylor today in Second Kings twenty.

It’s common for the leaders of countries to negotiate even with countries they might look upon as threats or as an enemy. But when it comes to our great enemy Satan we need to come to realize there is to be no negotiations! If you do, you’ll lose every time. We'll unpack that together on Abounding Grace.

I’m sure you can identify some people in your life that are really good and godly examples. People who are following Christ and living to honor the Lord. Then there are also quite a number of people around us that are really bad examples. As we turn together to Second Kings eighteen we’ll notice that King Hezekiah followed a very good example, and Pastor Ed will encourage us to do the same.

The Lord has given the Christian a great amount of liberty but as we’re learning in First Corinthians we need to learn how to handle them in a God-glorifying way. Just as it was in the city of Corinth there are a good number of people today planting themselves way to close to sin and the world, all in the name of liberty. The problem is, overtime it becomes very easy to cross the line and before you know it you’re referring to sin as a liberty.
