I like what Martin Luther had to say on the subject of giving, I have tried to keep things in my hands and lost them all, but what I have given into God’s hands I still possess! Today on Abounding Grace we enter into a discussion about finances and giving. You may recall the apostle Paul is in the middle of defending himself against some accusations. He wanted to assure the folks in Corinth that his motives in ministry were pure, not to take advantage of them but to serve them.

Pastor Ed Taylor will join us in a second and pick up where we left off in Second Kings five. We’ve been spending a little extra time on the story of Naman as it is so relevant and applicable to our lives. Naman didn’t have a shortage of money that’s for sure, but he had a problem only God could deal with! Today we’ll uncover how the leprosy he dealt with is a picture of our salvation story.

Ed Taylor picks up where we left off in Second Kings. That happens to be chapter five. If you’ll recall Naman was just healed of leprosy, and we discovered that leprosy is a picture of the progression of sin in a human life. But as we’ll learn today, it’s also a wonderful picture of our salvation story.

Join us for a special message on the Israel Hamas War and the Church, delivered recently by pastor Ed Taylor. It’ll serve to help us process what’s going on through the lens of Bible prophecy. Some have wondered recently, is what we’re seeing in Israel the Ezekiel 38 last days war, or setting the table for it? Pastor Ed will address that and more today.

We’ve seen it all over the news. October seventh was the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust. And since then Israel has responded. So today on Abounding Grace we’ve decided to break away from our regularly scheduled programming in order to bring you a timely message on the Israel Hamas War, and the Church. As you’ll soon see we’re living in the middle of Bible prophecy! And we should respond by being men and women of the book… the Bible.

When we put in a hard day of work, we expect to be compensated for it right? Should those in ministry be treated any differently? Let’s talk about that today on Abounding Grace. We’ve made it to chapter nine of First Corinthians as we continue through this epistle together. Here the subject shifts to supporting the man of God. While Paul had certain rights as an apostle he chose to lay some of them aside, for the good of others and the glory of God.

Pastor Ed will be continuing our series in Second Kings. Maybe like the man we’ll be introduced to today, you’re dealing with a sickness or disease of some sort. Whether it’s life threatening as it was for Naman or you’d describe it as painful and discouraging, I think you’ll find hope and comfort on the other side of this lesson. Pastor Ed wants us to see that God is always working.
