Another year, another opportunity to be thankful. This year ACOFAE is thankful for so many things: reading slumps, not so great books, self discovery, and setting boundaries. Join Laura Marie and Jessica Marie as they discuss the book that they are most thankful for this year and for reasons chose to NOT pitch to the podcast. Both Laura Marie and Jessica Marie went on a journey of discovery during their reading adventure for extremely different reasons but both conclude the same: the love of fandom unites us all.

ACOFAE is thankful for YOU. <3

ACOFAE Podcast Presents: The Hunger Games: The Movie: "That is mahogany!"

"Welcome, welcome"

Where were you when Katniss volunteered? What were you doing when Peeta threw the bread in the mud? How do you feel when Gale uses catnip as a nickname? These important and pressing questions and more are answered as ACOFAE covers The Hunger Games the movie. Welcome to Panem, everything is awful and children have to fight to the death on television to show penance and remind the world of the grace of The Capital. Makes total sense. But actions speak louder than words and as the world watches the 74th Hunger Games things begin to unravel for the game-makers, the tributes, and for President Snow. This episode does hoo and huff a bit about the books and some of the changes, but sticks to the movie overall.

Spoilers: The Hunger Games, Crown of Midnight

Mentions: Queen Charlotte, The Boys, Twilight, Star Wars, Burlesque, Kricket with a K, Arrow

ACOFAE Podcast Presents: Underworld: “Why are they so obsessed with each other?”

Where were you in 2003? Were you thinking about Michael Sheen? Were vampires on your radar? What about werewolves? Surprising everyone probably, maybe ACOFAE Laura did NOT see this in theaters, and surprising no one probably, maybe ACOFAE Jessica saw this for the first time on Laura's couch. For a movie that flew a bit under the radar in the early aughts, Underworld is jammed packed with everything that ACOFAE loves and just a bit that maybe ACOFAE doesn't. Filmed with what seems like a filter over the lens, this Romeo and Juliet (what!?) story about bloodlines spawned a franchise and a conversation about female action stars that sent Laura Marie and Jessica Marie spiraling.

Does this movie follow "The Pattern"?
