ACOFAE Podcast Presents: The Empire of Gold Pt 1: "He's not a smart man."

Absolute power corrupts absolutely, isn't that how the saying goes? What happens when the dream you've had since a child comes true? What happens when the foundations of your world are ripped away? What happens when magic is gone? Daevabad is not the same. Nahri and Ali have vanished. The Ifrit roam the city and Dara is the only being that can use magic. Rumors are flying, loyalties are being questioned and the killing has begun. A world away Nahri and Ali are on their own desperately trying to stay alive and out of the clutches of the Marid. But when the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and the true enemy is family ties, how can anyone ever win?

“Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

ACOFAE Podcast Presents: Wicked Villains 1-3: "They all come here."

The pipeline from being obsessed with Red Jasmine as a child to being obsessed with Red Jasmine in a kink club as an adult is one that should be studied. Welcome to The Underworld, a kink club that is different from the one you know and love, but not that different. The club is the setting for books 1-3 of Wicked Villains and it's almost it's own character. Red Jasmine and Jafar set the stage in book 1 (Desperate Measures) with Meg (Learn My Lesson) and Tink (A Worthy Opponent) following in their own spicy retellings in books 2 and 3. The heroes are the "villains" and the "villains" are very sexy and love to wonder "Who did this to you?" ACOFAE loves a villain.

ACOFAE Podcast Presents: The Kingdom of Copper - Part 2: “Go steal some happiness for yourself, my friend."

There is a certain kind of joy that ACOFAE feels when a character actually does the thing. You know. The thing that's been threatened or looming the entire story. The shock, excitement, fear, and anticipation of "The Thing" unfolding as you read is perhaps one of the greatest feelings ever. "The Thing" happens here in Part 2 of The Kingdom of Copper. Jessica Marie wanted a good political fantasy and she got one as Nahri and Ali are surviving as best they can in a city rife with tension and about to implode. Forces outside of Daevabad are gathering and they have their sights set on sacking the city. Nahri has the hospital in her grip but what about her husband? The plots come out of the closet and the siblings are bonding as everything finally changes.

ACOFAE Podcast Presents: The Kingdom of Copper - Part 1: "I need to put some men in their place."

Welcome back to Daevabad. Ali is in exile, Nahri is married, and time has passed. So much time in fact that Ali has carved out a life for himself in the desert, Nahri has become the healer she always wanted to be, and Daevabad..isn't doing excellent. The religious tensions, political tensions, and familial tensions all come to a head in this, not as traveled as you'd think, "book 2." Toxic relationships and the ties that bind people to each other are tested to their breaking point. What happens when the lies are uncovered, the hidden enemy revealed, and the ACT is done? What happens when the goal is achieved? The Kingdom of Copper is split into 2 episodes because Laura Marie and Jessica Marie are very into the story. Nahri stepping into her power? Say less.
