And when they say "WHY CHOOSE?!" Believe them. Iron Widow blew the socks off of ACOFAE in the best way possible and left them screaming for more. Down with the Patriarchy! Down with the bullshit! Down with everything!

ACOFAE Podcast presents: Empire Records: "What's with today, today?"

ACOFAE podcast couldn't let another April go by without bringing attention possibly the greatest holiday in the month of April: Rex Manning Day! Say no more...

Empire Records is the place you want to work. The boss loves music. The staff is gorgeous and complicated. The store itself is glorious. The man? Damn him. What do you do when the place you love is about to be taken over by corporate America? You steal the store's $9,000 and go to Atlantic City in a wild attempt to save it. Obviously. What follows is a day in the life of the store employees as they deal with stolen money, a shoplifter, a love declaration, and a washed up pop star. Welcome to Music Town. May I service you?

ACOFAE Podcast Presents: The Virgin Suicides: "Obviously, Doctor, you've never been a 13-year-old girl."

There are a few things on ACOFAE that stay 100% consistent: love of sisterhood, female empowerment, and freedom being just a few. So it would be a fair assumption that both Laura Marie and Jessica Marie would love this movie. This movie being about sisterhood and freedom, or the lack-thereof. Cue the surprise of a lifetime and the start of some excellent discussions about what it is to be a child, what it is to be an adult, and how hard it is to look back through nostalgia with fresh eyes. The Virgin Suicides gives us a dreamy, female centric aesthetic that tries it's best to show the elusive world of girlhood in all it's beauty and horror. Where it truly succeeds in leaping bounds is in showing us that boys (later men), even if they try, will never understand what it is to be a 13 year old girl.

ACOFAE Podcast presents: Queen Among the Dead: "We'd be remiss if we didn't bring it up."

In a world full of magic, gods, ghosts and monsters it can be hard to know where you belong. When your mother is the Queen and throws you to the wolf goddess at birth and then flees the kingdom, it can be even harder to figure out where you belong. Neve is the younger princess of Eire and she will never be Queen, that's the job of her older sister and she is welcome to it. But what happens when the magic, the Druids, the people, and the king are all tied up together in tradition and ceremony? What happens when you find out who you truly are? Inspired by the legends of Ireland Queen Among the Dead took ACOFAE by surprise in more ways than one.

ACOFAE Podcast presents: Shadows and Lies: "Madly."

Jane has had enough. She's fled her arranged marriage, murdered a bit here and there, been manipulated, been powerless, and now you're telling her WHAT about her trusted WHAT?! The reveal of the decade that left Laura Marie and Jessica Marie reeling is just one of the surprises that await the reader in Shadows and Lies, the follow-up to Ruin and Roses. Jane is in a new land after her flight from marriage and now has a price on her head. Barred from her own country, Jane has no choice but to lean on the allies that saved her even though their motives are...vague. If you wanted more politics, more training montages, more travel, and more spice then you are in luck. Friendships, sisterhood, and acceptance are themes that we love at ACOFAE and they are on full display here. "Once upon a time there was a boy with a thief’s heart and a girl with emerald eyes...Do they fall in love?"
