Domestic violence is still a very real thing in this day and age. My guest Samantha MacMillan was brave enough to share her story. Samantha encourages others out there that are or were in her same position to not give up hope. Among other advice, she shared she stressed going to the hospital the night of the assault and to report it to the police. Hindsight is 20/20 and Samantha can attest to that. There are things she would have done differently had she been able to assess the situation from the outside looking in. Samantha also shared her frustration with outsiders putting blame on the victims and the fact that they are expected to co-parent with their abuser in some situations. She feared for her life and her son's life. Thankfully they are safe now and she wants that for everyone in an abusive situation. She shares her story to encourage others and now starting a 501C to act in her passion for helping other victims...survivors.

The Anxiety Sisters are here to give you easy steps to shut up that anxiety! Maggie and Abbe met in college and realized they were both experiencing anxiety. They joined forces first for their own peace and sanity. But then while discussing medication side effects on public transportation they were joined in their conversation about such intimate stuff and realized others wanted to talk about anxiety too! This led to a book, research & education, but most importantly a community for all who have anxiety. The sisters shared about hormones and acceptance as well as solutions to help you cope with anxiety. If you haven't heard of a spin kit and how to make your own, you'll want to catch this episode.

Sorry to tell you ladies but you aren't done with Menopause till you die. See, my guest, Lynne Wadsworth, explained that what we all refer to as menopause, is really post-menopause. You are in post-menopause till you die. This wasn't always an easy subject for Lynne to speak about. It was quite taboo and you for sure didn't speak about it around men. Lynne has a podcast, "Living Life Naturally" and wants these topics out in the open, to remove any stigma, and help women with their health as they age. Lynne shared some great natural tips to help ease the symptoms of perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause. Lynne stressed that self-care is not selfish and to balance all aspects of health to keep your body at optimal performance. Take the time to educate yourself with this episode.

I've been keeping an eye on Tiffany Mason and noticing that she is not afraid to take chances. She has her hands in alot of pots and follows her passions. On top of being a podcaster and a talented podcast manager...she and her husband started a coffee cart. I love that she follows her passions regardless of what others may think. As we age we begin to care more about enjoying each day rather than worrying about what others think. Tiffany relies on her relationship with God and staying true to herself so she can enjoy her non-traditional routes of earning an income. I want to encourage you to take a non-traditional route and join my team with Tiffany...take a chance!!!

Will you be rich or wealthy in the second half of your financial life? David Rosell was my guest on this episode, author of "Failure Is Not An Option" and offered the idea that the last day you contribute to your investments is you entering the second half of your financial journey. Did you contribute enough? People are living longer so it's challenging to know what to plan for. Last year Hallmark sold 75,000 100th birthday cards!! Can you believe it?? David also offered a few risks you want to watch out for while planning for this second half of your financial life. In his book, he focuses on 8 risks but touched base on the three that really stand out.

Why do we all make losing weight so difficult? "The Fab", as we call her in my circle, Aana Camp joined me to discuss her recent health journey. Aana has lost weight and it sounded pretty effortless. Yes, she uses Neora products but she also joined me to share some easy tips about drinking water, playing mind games with yourself, and setting small goals. She encouraged all of you to chip away at your goals. Don't make them so big you fail right away. "You win when you win." As in, when you lose, you tend to give up on the goals you have set. So make it easy to achieve easy wins that will carry into the next day. At the end Aana shared how to be as happy and fit as her at age 63! Drink your water people!

They may say no. And that's ok...when our parents are aging and we try to talk them into a solution that truly is best for everyone they may be reluctant. Amy O'Rourke joined me on this episode and shone some light on taking care of your parents as they age. Their mindset is not the same as yours. And they are still your parents. Can you imagine your children showing up and trying to boss you around? Amy brought up a few things, that you may not have thought of, that could be from your parents point of view. They have concerns as they age too. They need your help not 'parental guidance.' Check out the full episode to learn how you can better aid your parents as they age and things change.
