This week I have Jillian (TikTok: @JillianBourke) on the podcast and we discuss trusting the process. What does that mean? How do we manage to trust the process and help keep us on track? Jillian is truly an inspiration as she discusses what has worked for her the last several months. She talks about plateauing, trusting the process and coming out the other end with a loss!
During this weight loss journey we are going to start feeling more confident in ourselves and branch out a bit. For me, it was solo camping. I had done it before and now that I was in better shape I felt it was time to get back out there. However, even when we take on these adventures of doing new things or recreating old memories, just remember, it's not always going to be perfect. It's ok though, because it's all about the adventure. We need to keep trying to step outside of our comfort zone and try things we've always wanted to do no matter what size we are at now. We deserve to have those adventures, but first we need to gather up the courage and start planning!
In June, on Tuesdays, we will be discussing building confidence! This week we discuss building confidence at the gym. Whether it's trying out new equipment, doing a fitness class, or just building up the courage to get to the gym. Plus size people deserve to be at the gym and feel confident just as much as average sized people. We shouldn't have anxiety about someone making fun of us. Let's build our confidence so we can enjoy the gym just like everyone else!
I talk with Leslie (TikTok: @MrsCousCousToGo) about weight loss communities, interacting in them, the benefits and of course, a few cons. She discusses her journey plus her love for 75 hard. She also gives a few tips for those too shy to post on social media. She was wonderful to talk with and is inspirational every day of her journey!
Jocelyn (TikTok @JociDelgado) and I discuss emotional and stress eating. It's going to happen during every weight loss journey and it's ok! Joci provides us some dynamite advice on how to change our mindset when it comes to emotional eating. She discusses her struggles with weight loss and how she handles those situations where we can't put down the bag of chips!
I talk about giving into temptation and why we should no longer feel guilty about it! It's ok to have a few slices of pizza and if we overeat one day it will not ruin our health journey. I also discuss setting realistic expectation, because we are not going to be perfect on this journey. It's about normalizing imperfection and how that will get us further on our journey than we thought was even possible!
