It's been nearly 30 years since The Blair Witch Project (1999) terrorized film audiences with the inaugural "found footage" film.
The film's logline: Three film students vanish after traveling into a Maryland forest to film a documentary on the local Blair Witch legend, leaving only their footage behind.
The Blair Witch Project was heavily marketed as a true story, employing a unique viral marketing campaign to blur the lines between fiction and reality. This strategy included a fake documentary on the Sci-Fi channel, fake missing person flyers, a website with fabricated evidence, and fake police reports.
Fortunately, no actors were murdered or maimed in the making of the film. One of the "survivors" joins us on this episode -- actor Michael C. Williams.
Also joining us is fellow thespian, filmmaker, nature wanderlust and sometimes co-host, Cuyle Carvin.
