Hello everyone, my name is Obinna and today we are talking to Romario. At the time of this recording, he was an Epidemiologist/ Data Reporting Specialist. Without Romario throughout my uni life was the person I most respected. Though life has not been easy he is a shining example of what it means to stick with your principles and push through despite the uncertainty of the future. In this episode we talk about building community, the challenges that come with shaping your own path, and the importance of health policy in supporting low-income communities.

Hello everyone, my name is Obinna and today we are talking to Marlyne, a Masters's student at Duke University Studying Data Science whilst also being a software development intern at Nvidia. If there was anyone in this life that I would personally measure a strong work ethic against it would be her and it’s something I’ve respected from afar for a long time. In this conversation, we talk about the decision and process around finding and choosing a master's degree. The struggles of getting outside of academia to get real-world experience and finally the struggles of switching cultures where being a thriving woman in STEM was once a norm to where it’s now a barrier. It’s been a blessing seeing Munya grow from a small-time filmmaker to now a documentary filmmaker for an amazing company creating content that can be seen across socials and even on TV. My name is Obinna and today we are talking to Hasan, a data engineer turned entrepreneur. I interviewed him in the midst of the pandemic. I’m going to warn you now, close to the end of the interview, we had some background interruption so the sound quality wasn’t the best there, but the nuggets were good so I decided to keep it in. Hasan’s story is impactful because it exemplifies turning your disadvantage into your superpower, I’ll leave it like that because the story speaks for itself. My name is Obinna and today we are speaking with Thando Kunene who is a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Program Manager when I interviewed her she was an assistant director in career development and coaching at the piper center in St.Olaf college. I loved talking to Thando cause back in the day I only knew her as a career person but through the conversation, I got to learn about the importance of providing mental health spaces for marginalized communities, a new perspective on how to look at success, and different take on what it means to move to America. Today we are speaking to Adom who is currently the founder of the Palava a media publication based in Accra Ghana, but at the time I interviewed him he worked in marketing by day with numerous projects by night. I had fun talking to Adom as at the time of the interview he was a year ahead of me out of college, so I could relate to his experience. But through our conversation, I learned the importance of creating opportunities for yourself and the power of ambition.
