Join Captain Kirk and Dburt as they discuss the following issues: the rape case against former IMF chief, Dominique Strauss-Kahn appears to have crumbled due to the credibility issues of the accuser; the Casey Anthony trial has come back with a not guilty verdict; a new documentary (hat tip to Shadow and Act's Sergio Mims for informing us about this) entitled, Diary of A Decade showcases the 90s Black alternative music scene coming out of Atlanta, GA; our thoughts on a recent Smiley and West podcast interview with legendary comedian/provocateur, Paul Mooney and lastly, what appears to be somewhat tangentially connected, NY's Openline radio show, (WRKS-98.7fm) gets a bold caller named "Hassan" who critiques the show for its gross adherence to grievance style politics and victimization-and we applaud his verve.

Join Daryll B., Capt. Kirk and Dburt as they use their pop culture stethoscopes to diagnose the following topics: the gang will ponder some of the history that led to the development of some of the classic heroes (i.e. Superman, Captain America, The Joker, etc); Fox appears to betting heavy on their next sci-fi franchise, Terra Nova (trailer, above); more thoughts on DCnu after more information hits the net concerning the upcoming 52 titles, prospective story lines and sketches; a self indulgent discussion concerning attainable (and perhaps dream propositions) comic book or science fiction related must haves-clothing, statutes, books, etc and lastly our favorite comic/graphic novel reads from the previous weeks.

(your guess is as good as ours); Syracuse University finance professor, Dr. Boyce Watkins (whose Black victimization hustle comes off eerily similar to Dr. Michael Eric Dyson) actually came out strongly against the coonfest depicted at the recent BET Awards; former Illinois governor, Rod Blagojevich was convicted on 17 corruption charges; A 6-figure Citigroup VP is accused of pilfering 19 million dollars (and spending it like there's no tomorrow) and Dburt pontificates on a new book entitled, The Singularity and how it ties into the first Terminator film....somehow. Oh and if time permits-Dr. Phil's show on race....hmmm.

Topics on the table: A US soldier is able to "re-grow" his leg after receiving a pig bladder injection; President Obama impersonator, Reggie Brown gets pulled off the stage during a Republican sponsored speaking engagement; A Japanese scientist has developed an edible meat substitute derived from the proteins of feces (whoa!); Are men who flaunt flashy cars the marrying kind?;  Minister Farrakhan and Rep. Michele Bachmann vs President Obama?.....apparently and hip hop artist, Lupe Fiasco explains his "Obama is a terrorist" statement to Bill O'reilly & more!

The Pulp flavored issues to be discussed this week are:  our review of the Green Lantern film; Dynamite releases the Bionic Man comic; our favorite comic book reading suggestions; more info regarding FX's Powers casting of the Deena Pilgrim character; 100 Bullets makes it to Showtime cable and a Fringe writer/producer gets the Daredevil reboot gig!

Topics:  Can Anthony Weiner be left alone?; Dburt's Green Lantern review; Was Conservative talker, Neal Boortz being racist or truthful; O-storm stops by to discuss his runin with the liberal media's PC police; expectations for fathers in a Post Obama America and the return of Dave Chappelle?.....maybe...

The issues du jour are:  a brief synopsis of the New Hampsire GOP Debate; are minority children looking at too much TV; is the UK Attack the Block better than Super 8; Is Weiner getting targeted because of anti_Semetsim; Eric Holder wants season 6 of The Wire to happen; rapper, Wiz Khalifa and assault defendant, Chazmia Morrison both have wardrobe malfunctions.

This week's topics are: as DC revamps its entire comic book line with fresh new number one issues, Superman and other characters are experiencing wardrobe changes; the Shoppe crew finally get around to suggesting some comic book/graphic novel reads for their listeners; thoughts on the introduction of a Black character to the Batman family.....Batwing; a review of the new Green Lantern animated release, Green Lantern: Emerald Knights in addition to predictions for this upcoming weekend's release of the live action iteration and lastly, if time permits we will give our impression of DC and Marvel's event story lines thus far (and why aren't there event story lines for publishers outside of the big two)
