After-Hours with Faction! Motorsports

Damien from Car Shop Karoshi and SmileXDeath returns for one of the most unhinged and hilarious episodes we’ve ever recorded. We talk about his upcoming event — the SmileXDeath Challenge — going down October 3rd–5th at Lake Erie Speedway in Pennsylvania. Inspired by classic Option videos and old-school JDM events, the SmileXDeath Challenge brings the fun back to drifting with a throwback feel and unique format.

But like all great episodes, we go way off the rails. Fast food obsessions, mutant spiders at a pig farm-based shop, public bathroom etiquette, VR drifting, boner stories, church trauma, and a surprise flashing on the highway — it’s all here.

Warning: this episode gets raunchy. Maybe don’t listen with your kids in the room.

In this episode, we finally get all three members of the Daring Ones Drift Team — Ron, John, and Eric — in the studio. We talk about their start in drifting, the struggles of building and maintaining reliable drift cars, turbo kit regrets, axle carnage, and Eric's NC Miata journey. Along the way, we somehow end up deep in conversation about lemon squares, gas station strategy, childhood taste buds, and the dark art of McDonald's ordering.

In this episode, we take a more laid-back approach and let the conversation flow. We talk about the upcoming open house this weekend and the stress that comes with trying to pull it all together. From there, things go off the rails—in the best way possible. We touch on the disturbing fact that George Washington had slave teeth, dive into the hypothetical battle of 100 men vs. 1 gorilla, and crack open some MREs for a taste test. To no one’s surprise, Karl liked it. It’s chaotic, it’s ridiculous, and it’s exactly what you'd expect from us.

This one's been a long time coming. Alexis and Sharon from DK Ladies League—a women-led drifting organization based in the Northeast—join us for a laid-back yet impactful convo. Alexis made the 5+ hour trek from New Hampshire, and we’re grateful she did.

We get into what it’s like running an all-women’s drift league, the ups and downs of organizing events, and making space in a male-dominated scene. It's full of laughs, real talk, and insight for anyone looking to get involved—especially the ladies stepping into drift.
