When reality bites, take charge with this one powerful tool we all possess. (Pssssssst, it’s our childlike imagination we’ve let wither away!)

I got stuck in a pit of my own making because I had the stupid idea to see what other writers were doing and note how successful they appeared to be compared to me - and it made me feel bad about myself. Really bad. In this episode I talk about why we no longer need to look to everyone else for answers because the truth is, no one knows what they’re doing at first, it’s all one great big experiment with a million ways to do one thing. (And I’m sure your way is just perfect for you! And if not, you try another way, and another until you get it. Why do it any other way than your way?!)
Change the way you set goals and you may begin achieving more than you imagined possible - with a lot less stress. When working with clients, I discovered a common thread that kept many from getting what they wanted - and it all stemmed from their beliefs about their abilities. Apparently we’re not a very trusting-of-our-own-abilities species! Learn the one question you need to ask yourself before setting any new goal.
There are a million ways to do one thing - and the fun is finding out which one way works best for you instead of trying to follow the masses. Whether it’s losing weight, eating better, changing jobs - there are a million ways to do one thing and the real tell-tale sign if you’re doing it right is how much you’re enjoying the process. Whats the energy you’re bringing?
We all have that little voice in our heads nitpicking the things we do - and somedays it’s obnoxiously loud! Here’s a simple tactic I’ve begun to use to silence it (a little), and how I’ve learned to slow its momentum (as in when one negative thought engages another and then another and before you know it, like water to a gremlin, you’re host to a party of nasty little thoughts that want to bring you down!)
There’s discomfort in staying the same, but there’s also discomfort in creating change in your life… so what do you do when you’re ready for a change but you don’t want it to be so uncomfortable that you’re dreading it more than you’re wanting it? Let’s dish!
