This year is somehow the 30th anniversary of Primordial! so this is the first of a few ramshackle, sprawling stream of consciousness casts about how that happened, how we felt as young men starting on that journey, what our aspirations were if any, those early years, the romance is always portrayed as a 'this is our ticket outta here....' kinda narrative but if anything it was a small % of that but mainly a haphazard, unplanned, directionless journey that somehow stayed the course and before you know it you stand at the end of 30 years looking back trying to make some sense of it all! this if the first of my attempts to sense make how we got here!

Returning in 74 after a technical glitch which meant AA missed a week this is the long promised and perhaps unwise look at the history of Afghanistan, from the Anglo-Afghan war in 1839 through to the present day, thoughts on the recent withdrawal, some dark and off the beaten track observations and what this means for US/Western influence in the modern world. Along with some thoughts on the new Iron Maiden and why AA ain't you nor your bands keeper!!! back in the game.....

In E 72 I dissect the first Primordial gig in 20 months back after lockdown in London last weekend, how did they prepare? choose the setlist, travel procedures. how was it to step back into a busy bar and talk to strangers once again? do shots at the bar with people ya don't know, realising it was something you hadn't done in 20+ months. Anxious? Nervous? Hesitant? How was it to stand on the stage again and get back in the ring, all those things answered.

Does the return of a smattering of festivals across the continent signify the return of live music on some level or are they simply allowed to happen with restrictions simply because they are in the open....will we be back to square one once summer is over gridlocked with health concerns over riding social society and no indoor concerts allowed? this is the question. In E 68 AA talks about confirming gigs finally, what does that mean? will they happen? what does sitting on the fence mean? could it not just mean you are nuanced, don't go for the sexy black and white answers and reside in the nuanced complex middle ground? does speaking out about politics and the situation do my career any good as some people deliberately misconstrue what you say in order to meet their bias, should this affect how you judge and listen to the music I make? and why some people always assume the worst possible intent of every comment or post, is it because no one is interested in debate, only shutting people down and winning?.....dating in times of the jab, who controls your sex life and many other nonsenses!!! this one is a spicy meatball and doesn't pull any punches in the culture war.....let's get stuck in
