A record-breaking spate of launches by North Korea in recent weeks has sent fears soaring that the reclusive regime will soon carry out its seventh nuclear test.

The White House says Biden will press China to curb Pyongyang's activities when he holds his first face-to-face meeting with Xi on Monday on the sidelines of a G20 summit in Indonesia.

Biden will meet his South Korean counterpart Yoon Suk-yeol and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Sunday to discuss ways to address the threat posed by North Korea's ""unlawful weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs"", the White House said.

The three-way meeting on the sidelines of an East Asia Summit in Phnom Penh comes after a flurry of tests by North Korea earlier this month, including an intercontinental ballistic missile.

Pyongyang ramped up its launches in response to large-scale US-South Korean air exercises, which North Korea described as ""aggressive and provocative"".

Biden will use his closely watched talks with Xi on Monday to urge China to use its influence as North Korea's main ally to press Kim Jong Un's regime to cool down.

US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said the president would not make demands but would warn Xi that further missile and nuclear build-up would mean the United States boosting its military presence in the region 6 something Beijing bitterly opposes.

""North Korea represents a threat not just to the United States, not just to (South Korea) and Japan but to peace and stability across the entire region,"" Sullivan told reporters.

Biden flew to Phnom Penh from the COP27 climate conference as part of US efforts to boost its influence in Southeast Asia as a counter to China.

China has been flexing its muscles - through trade, diplomacy and military clout - in recent years in a region it sees as its strategic backyard.

Biden took a veiled swipe at Beijing in talks with leaders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) regional bloc.

He said the United States would work with ASEAN to ""defend against the significant threats to rules-based order and threats to the rule of law"".

While the president did not refer to China by name, Washington has long criticised what it says are Beijing's efforts to undermine international norms on everything from intellectual property to human rights.

Biden and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang were seated on either side of the host, Cambodian leader Hun Sen, at a gala dinner to mark the ASEAN summit on Saturday night.

Biden goes into the meeting with Xi buoyed by unexpectedly successful midterm elections at home, where his Democratic Party retained control of the US Senate and saw off predictions of a Republican ""red wave"".

For his part, Xi was anointed last month for a historic third term as paramount leader by the Chinese Communist Party congress.

Impersonation has become a point of contention on Twitter following Elon Musk's newly revised and rolled out Twitter Blue subscription service that allows paying customers to gain the iconic verification checkmark badge.

The new Twitter Blue service became available on November 9, and since then, numerous accounts across various industries have decided to pay the $7.99 fee to receive their blue verified check mark and a range of other features. Leading up to the release of Twitter Blue, there was a wave of already-verified accounts impersonating Elon Musk, with celebrities and public figures such as H3 Podcast host Ethan Klein and comic Kathy Griffin changing their display names to ""Elon Musk"" and then posting several tweets in an attempt to impersonate his account.

Now that Twitter Blue is available, we are seeing this account impersonation spread beyond just targeting Elon Musk, with companies such as Nintendo, Twitch, Valve, and many more becoming victims of impersonation. Most notably, Twitter's own Twitter account was impersonated by a random user that created a new Twitter account, paid for Twitter Blue to receive the verification badge, and then proceeded to post a tweet that claimed Twitter Blue was now free for crypto/NFT holders who ""authenticated"" their digital wallet assets by clicking a link.

This fraudulent post by this nefarious account holder, unfortunately, gained more than 35,000 retweets before Twitter was able to identify that it was a scam.

Now, Musk has taken to his personal Twitter account to announce some new rules when it comes to parody or impersonation accounts. According to the Tesla CEO, any accounts engaging in a parody of another account must include ""parody"" in their name and not just their bio. Musk further explained that any accounts ""doing parody impersonations. Basically, tricking people is not ok.""

These aren't necessarily new rules that Musk has thrown into Twitter's Terms of Service, as Twitter already required users that were engaging in parody accounts to have ""parody"" clearly displayed in the accounts display name. However, it seems there will be some new rules officially written into Twitter's Terms of Service as Musk has agreed to a suggestion that the platform's Terms of Service should stipulate a rule under ""malicious intent or with the intent to deceive"".

In other news, Kanye West, now officially known as Ye, may have to watch Adidas sell his famous Yeezy shoes under different branding following the long-standing deal between the two parties dissolving. The rapper, who was partnered with Adidas since 2013, but it separate itself from Ye after he began posting antisemitic comments on social media platforms.

Ahead of its public debut during the LA Auto Show later this month, the Porsche 911 Dakar underwent testing on gravel, sand, and snow. The Dakar model name is a nod to the victory by Porsche in the 1984 Paris-Dakar rally with a purpose-built Porsche 911 car.

Overall, Porsche tested the 911 Dakar for 300,000 miles in different weather conditions, including 6,000 miles of off-road testing. These varying environments gave Porsche the best baseline on how the car drives in any type of weather or terrain.

During testing on sand dunes in Dubai and Morocco, the 911 Dakar conquered a 160-ft. steep dune climb with outside air temperature topping 113 degrees Fahrenheit.

The snow tests were especially interesting to Porsche, with a specific interest in traction and steering precision. Frozen lakes in Sweden hosted the test drivers with 90 percent compacted snow surface to mimic winter driving.

Porsche will wait until the LA Auto Show to offer specifics about the car, which is expected to have extra ground clearance, modifications to make it off-road better, and all-terrain tires to help get the job done. The 911 Dakar's powertrain and full details will be revealed soon, but don't be surprised if the 911 turbocharged flat-xis engine and the eight-speed PDK automatic transmission are included.

Recently, Porsche took a pair of modified 911 cars to climb the world's tallest volcano, proving the sporty luxury vehicles aren't just for the road.

Since Elon Musk has taken over Twitter, top executives at the company have departed, with two more top executives recently leaving and describing their experience at the social media company as ""Game of Thrones""- like.

A new report from NBC News has revealed that top Twitter executives such as Twitter's Chief Information Security Officer, Lea Kissner, along with Twitter's Chief Compliance Officer, Marianne Fogarty, officially resigned Wednesday night, following the rollout of Twitter Blue and the slew of account impersonations that have and still are taking place.

The publication reports that the top executives left the company only hours before SpaceX CEO Elon Musk sent out his very first email to Twitter employees, which was titled ""difficult times ahead"". The email implemented a mandatory return-to-work policy. Fogarty recently took to Twitter and wrote, ""I don't watch Game of Thrones. I certainly don't want to play it at work."" The roller coaster at Twitter has attracted the attention of the Federal Trade Commission, as a spokesperson for the government agency recently wrote that the agency is ""tracking recent developments at Twitter with deep concern"".

Adding that there is ""No CEO or company is above the law, and companies must follow our consent decrees. Our revised consent order gives us new tools to ensure compliance, and we are prepared to use them,"" wrote the spokesperson

NBC News reports that it has seen Twitter employees' Slack chat and that some private messages from staff within that group inbox speculated that Musk's decision to roll out changes extremely quickly is what's putting the entire company at risk of an FTC audit. To further add to the rocky road Twitter is traveling on, Musk recently announced on his personal Twitter account that over the coming months, Twitter will ""do lots of dumb things"", and that the platform will keep what ""works & change what doesn't"".

According to a recent report, more than 1 million people have left Twitter since Elon Musk has taken over the company, but according to Musk, the platform is hitting new milestones when it comes to usage, indicating more people are on Twitter now than ever before. Using swarm data generated by thousands of Volkswagen vehicles, VW's Travel Assist helps drivers keep the middle of the lane. The system can adjust based on a driver's driving style. Volkswagen has spent years researching and developing swarm data, which will remain a major endeavor as vehicles inch their way closer to fully autonomous driving support.

Simply tapping the turn signal when the vehicle is traveling 55 mph or faster supports lane changes - once sensors don't detect any objects or vehicles nearby - the ID. Buzz is able to automatically steer itself into another lane.

There are plenty of other assistance systems designed to help keep drivers safe - driver alert system, pedestrian and cyclist monitoring, oncoming vehicle braking when turning, lane assist, hazard alert function, and other software-based solutions.

Here is what Kai Grunitz, member of VW brand board of management with focus on development, said in a press statement:

""In the ID. Buzz, iconic design meets innovative technology, and this is reflected in new convenience and assistance systems. We are taking the next step forward on the way to highly automated driving with the use of swarm data in the latest Travel Assist. The car should make its US debut sometime in 2023, with North American buyers required to wait until sometime in 2024.

In late October, Volkswagen noted there have been more than 20,000 orders for the ID. Buzz - more than what is capable to produce before the end of the year.

The all-electric ID sub-brand will have a number of models - the entry-level ID.2 hatchback and ID.2X SUV have been confirmed, with VW also indicating an ID.3X SUV and ID.6 sedan will join the electric portfolio.

SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk has sent out his first company-wide email where he outlined the current state of Twitter and what the company has ahead of it.

The email was picked up by several publications, and according to reports, it was sent out to Twitter employees at 2:39 am ET on Wednesday. The billionaire first apologized for this email being the first one he's sent out since he acquired the company on October 27, but then went on to explain the overall situation at Twitter is dire. Musk explained that the ""economic picture ahead is dire"" and that Twitter is overly dependent on advertising, with 70% of its advertising being ""brand rather than performance"".

Musk explains that since Twitter is so advertiser reliant, he has been directing his attention toward the launch of Twitter Blue Verified Subscriptions as he believes the company needs a consistent revenue stream. Musk writes that without significant subscription revenue, there is a good chance that Twitter ""will not survive the upcoming economic downturn"". Musk added that Twitter needs approximately half of its total revenue to be from Twitter Blue subscriptions.

Additionally, Musk explained that the company won't be throwing advertising away completely and that it will still be significantly reliant on that revenue, which is why he is working closely with Twitter's sales and partnership teams to ""ensure that Twitter continues to be appealing to advertisers"".

Musk didn't sugarcoat the road that Twitter has ahead of it as the Tesla CEO said that there are many challenges ahead for the company that will require ""intense work to succeed"". Musk's email also announced that remote work is no longer allowed at Twitter, and starting on Thursday, all Twitter employees are required to be in the Twitter office for a minimum of 40 hours per week. Musk added that there are exceptions to this new rule, and he will personally be reviewing those exception requests for approval.

A new study published in the scientific journal Nature details a team of astronomers combing through Hubble's observational data from 2010 when they realized that the space telescope witnessed a star exploding. Notably, NASA explains on its website that witnessing a star exploding, or more accurately, going supernova, is actually quite a rare event as the period of time that it can be detected ranges from a few hours to just a few days. Hubble managed to capture a sequence of images that show the progression of the supernova.

NASA explains in its blog post on its website that this supernova happened when the universe was extremely young, less than a fifth of its current age of 13.8 billion years. Furthermore, the space agency writes that the observation wouldn't have been possible without a phenomenon called gravitation lensing, which was caused by the galaxy cluster Abell 370.

""Abell 370 acted as a cosmic lens, bending and magnifying the light from the more distant supernova located behind the cluster. The warping also produced multiple images of the explosion over different time periods that all arrived at Earth at the same time and were caught in one Hubble image. That was possible only because the magnified images took different routes through the cluster due both to differences in the length of the pathways the supernova light followed, and to the slowing of time and curvature of space due to gravity,"" writes NASA.

NASA's Artemis 1 vehicle was positioned on Launch Pad 39B at NASA's Kennedy Space Center when it was smacked by maelstrom Nicole.

Nicole hit NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) rocket with the attached Orion capsule on November 10, and as it rolled in from the coast, it was deemed a Category 1 hurricane but later changed to a weakened tropical storm as it moved more inland. NASA officials have reported that the Artemis 1 rocket and Orion capsule have experienced high-speed winds and rain but have made it through the several hours of panic with minimal damage.

According to reports, sensors located at the Launch Pad 39B indicate that wind speed peaked at around 82 mph while at an altitude of 60 feet, which is actually within the rocket's designed capabilities. According to a statement from NASA on November 8, the SLS rocket is designed to withstand wind speeds of up to 85 mph at 60 feet - talk about a close call.

Artemis 1 was originally meant to launch back in September, but the launch was unfortunately delayed after a fuel leak and then later delayed again by Hurricane Ian. Officials were forced to roll the SLS rocket and Orion capsule back into the Vehicle Assembly Building to shelter it from Hurricane Ian. NASA locked in a new launch date and moved the SLS rocket back out onto launch pad 39B on November 4 but was forced to postpone the launch once again due to weather - this time Nicole. NASA pushed the launch date back two days, moving it from November 14 to November 16.

However, this time around, officials chose to leave the SLS rocket on the pad to weather the storm. Jim Free, associate administrator of the Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate at NASA headquarters in Washington, explained via Twitter that NASA engineers are currently investigating how much damage the storm caused the SLS rocket via cameras attached to the launch pad. So far, camera inspections show very minor damage to the rocket, with only a few items, such as tears in weather coverings and loose caulk showing damage.

Twitter rolled out its Twitter Blue subscription service on November 9, and temporarily users noticed two check verification check marks scattered across the platform.

Before Musk changed everything to do with verification check marks, accounts would receive the typical blue verification check mark after providing Twitter with accurate information on the identity of the owner of the account. Typically, accounts given the blue verified checkmark pre-Musk's takeover also had to have a considerable amount of followers, or met other criteria. Now, check marks can be purchased with Twitter Blue, leading to thousands of parody accounts being created of companies, public figures, and celebrities.

Now, Twitter has rolled out another check mark that was briefly seen when Twitter Blue launched, gray checks. The ""official"" gray checks are seemingly coming back, but to only a few big-name accounts such as Amazon, Nike, Coca-Cola, The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, Wired, Twitter's own account, and more.

Now there are two check marks to watch out for on Twitter. The blue check mark indicates that the account has paid for Twitter Blue, and the other ""is verified because it's notable in government, news, entertainment, or another designated category.""

Earlier Thursday, Musk tweeted that ""too many corrupt legacy Blue 'verification' checkmarks exist, so no choice but to remove legacy Blue in coming months.""

In other Elon Musk-Twitter news, the SpaceX CEO recently announced new rules around parody and impersonation Twitter accounts, writing on his personal Twitter account that users must have ""parody"" in their display name.

Scientists have detected a black hole more than a million light years away from Earth engulfing a star, causing what researchers refer to as a ""Tidal Disruption Event"".

The new study published in the scientific journal Nature Astronomy details that Tidal Disruption Events happen when a black hole sucks up a nearby star, essentially shredding all of its available matter and energy much like a paper being put through a shredder. Throughout this process a blast of radiation and energy can be released by the black hole and that's exactly what caught astronomers' eyes when this middle-weight black hole consumed a star within the distant dwarf galaxy.

Researchers believe that measuring the blast of radiation will allow them to learn more about black holes and their relationship within dwarf galaxies. In particular, the researchers say that blast caused by the Tidal Disruption Event can provide insight into how researchers measure black hole in the future as well as how black holes go about consuming nearby stars.

""Tidal disruption events, the luminous flares produced when a star strays close to a BH and is shredded, are a direct way to probe massive black holes (BHs). The rise times of these flares theoretically correlate with the BH mass. Here we present AT 2020neh, a fast-rising tidal disruption event candidate, hosted by a dwarf galaxy,"" wrote the researchers.
