The adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) by businesses in the U.S. is increasing rapidly, according to a new paper from U.S. Census Bureau researchers. The use of AI tools in the production of goods and services has grown from 3.7% to 5.4% between the fall and February, and is expected to rise to 6.6% by early fall. While the overall usage of AI is still relatively small, businesses in the information technology sector and in Colorado and the District of Columbia are leading the way in AI adoption. However, trust in AI technology and uncertainty about future adoption rates remain challenges for businesses.
