Dan is back with another episode of Around the Bird Bath as he chats with UTSA legend Michael Rockett about getting scouted by UTSA, playing on a championship Roadrunners squad, his time in the Detroit Tigers organization, and life after his playing days.

We're in full-on football season as the Roadrunners wrap up the first week of fall camp. We share what we've learned about this team thus far through the camp, as well as react to the unveiling of this year's single digit jersey numbers. The selections of players voted into the Triangle of Toughness gives us a lot of insight into the program's culture and team leaders. We also discuss concerns with managing player injuries, and run through the list of players who have stood out through camp.

We discuss UTSA's high expectations going into the season (04:41) and analyze Jeff Traylor's comments on the importance of taking September games seriously in pursuit of the team's goal of making a run at the College Football Playoffs (16:09). One of the hot discussion topics at AAC Media Days was the concept of a conference-wide NIL floor/cap, so we gave our thoughts on the realities and implications of such league rules (19:32). Finally, we touch on UTSA's plans to hire a dedicated staff member to oversee NIL opportunities at UTSA (28:37).

Breaking Not-So-Good News! UTSA Baseball is in the midst of a mass exodus through the transfer portal over the last month, following a lackluster finish in the AAC Tournament to finish their 2024 season. The list is up to 14 names in the portal as of the time of this publishing, and fingers crossed it doesn't get any longer. Dan and Adrian discuss: what gives? Why don't guys want to play for a competitive team with good culture and a winning coach? Is it merely a coincidence, or does something smell funky at the Bird Bath?

The Roadrunners are set for their first ever American Athletic Conference tournament as UTSA wrapped up the regular season as the #2 seed. This gives the team a favorable draw as they look to win the conference in the hopes of securing a bid to an NCAA regional.

With a short week for the Birds on the schedule this week we decided to go with a combined episode for you guys as Dan and CJ recap a UTSA run-rule victory over cross-town rival UIW, while Dan wraps up the episode with a look at the FAU Owls and some potential scenarios for UTSA's conference seeding heading into the conference tournament.

The Roadrunners need to find their groove again this weekend as they welcome USF to the Bird Bath. UTSA will be battling to keep their #2 seed in the conference tournament, but they'll need some improved starting pitching this weekend to make it happen. We break down the last home series of the season for the Roadrunners.

The Roadrunners overcame an awful top of the first inning to defend the Bird Bath in the I-35 Rivalry. While the bats responded thanks to a grand slam from Mason Lytle, UTSA's defense continued to raise concerns. Dan welcomed Cory Davis back to the podcast to discuss UTSA's win over the Bobcats on Tuesday night.
