🕰️ This was recorded in early 2022.
Aleksandr Dugin is a Russian philosopher and political theorist who has shaped modern geopolitical thought.
He is often labelled as "Putin's brain" because, through what he calls The Fourth Political Theory, he has significantly influenced Russian politics, shaped the worldview of Russian elites and provided intellectual grounding for actions like the "invasion" of Ukraine.
Aleksandr (yes, with that spelling) is best known for promoting something called Eurasianism which is, basically, a vision of a unified cultural and political bloc to counter Western influence and preserve what it means to be Russian (and, by extension, European).
