We're joined by Def Jam and S.O.U.L Purpose's Mazzi - a music industry exec, musician, philanthropist, b-boy, activist and global citizen. A dear friend of mine for many years. Some of the highlights in this episode:
- Keys to a long career
Anika Morjaria (aka Literally Anika) is a former travel vlogger turned personal trainer (and a protege of mine). She's travelled the world, worked with brands and met some incredible people... and then she quit. You'll hear this story from its beginning, including the ups and downs. We leave no stone unturned on the grueling hours, anxiety and Anika's need to be honest about what value she was really creating for her ever-growing following.
You'll also hear the origin story of My Friends Your Friends, including why I created it and what its former name was (spoiler, I like the one we have now much more). It's also a big part of how I met and eventually mentored Anika - so it's all full circle. This is a huge episode, packed with great conversation. Honestly, one of my favourites :)

This is the podcast that content folks told me not to release, but I'm sure once you listen it'll make sense. I've helped produce hundreds of podcasts, I've also been interviewed on many podcasts and now I'm releasing my own (again). As a result, I've probably seen podcasting not work more times than I've seen it work, especially for new podcasters.
And the number one reason comes down to the content creators' perception of what will be valuable and what format to present the content in. So I'll break down two podcaster mistakes to avoid, "wet wood" and "beaver patting", and trust me, I've made these mistakes several times as both the creator and a guest.
I hope that makes sense and that you really enjoy this episode especially if you're thinking about starting your own podcast. Send us DM's if you wanna chat @rajkotecha and @vikmorjaria.
We all fk up and we all get inspired to do better. In this episode, I'm asked about my biggest mistakes (thanks Ali) and my biggest inspiration (thanks Joel). Vik and I riff on this subject for a bit whilst trying to avoid Domino's reprogramming our hungry minds - they've moved in and there's nothing I can do about it. And we end this short episode with a few words from our dear friend DJ TJ. This is a good short episode.

By the time you read this, the guestlist for my birthday this Friday in Dubai will be full and closed. So, we decided to record a special episode and send it directly to our wonderful friends and family coming. We talk about the birthday party with support from Makers Mark, how Birthday parties take a social nosedive after 30 (for most) and why I started, and keep, celebrating birthdays. There's a lot of stories in this one and some great insights on how I built my brand thanks to this flagship event. A killer episode, seriously one of my favourites. Let us know what you think please! We're loving the engagement!!

HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY RITESH SHAH! In this VERY special episode, I'm introducing you to such a key important figure in my DJing career and a HUGE accelerant to the Lovesoul brand when Vik and I were DJing together. Ritesh Shah is based in London and the founder of Flashback, a night that started 20 years ago (9th June 2001). He also celebrates his 50th birthday on June 11th 2021, and we recorded this episode on June 10th, right in between these two key dates.
We talk about why he created this night around a love for people and music, the charity work and good that's come from these nights, and transforming into a duo by becoming The Flashback DJ's, as I did when we formed The Lovesoul DJ's. Ritesh is the epitome of keeping it real, being a good guy and playing the long game. We talk about the impact of the lockdown on his nights, how it's affected him, and how the transition to 50 has taught him some key lessons about the last decade. You'll also hear about those that have helped him including the role of his wife of 30 YEARS (she helped him select records at Uni) and what the wider Flashback community means to him.
It's a REALLY special episode for Vik and I. Send us your thoughts on DM.

Dubai's No1 Podcast - Let's goooo!
I wanted to speak about confidence and some mental models you can use to repair them or reduce their impact on your life. I'm well known for my confidence and some of the things it's brought me. But what's less known is the essence of that confidence and how I've framed it for those that suffer from confidence issues. Wherever you are on that spectrum, you'll find at least one of the perspectives here useful.
Disclaimer: I haven't trained in mental health in any formal capacity and I'm certainly not a therapist, but try to apply at least one point in this podcast as a way to improve your self-confidence. Even a small positive action is a step in the right direction.
Side note: We get into real depth on this one because Vik sinks his teeth into a few of the points so hopefully everything you hear will be easy to understand and apply. If you need any expansion, our Instagram's are below.

The question "How do you deal with imposter syndrome?" came in via Instagram and so I decided to answer it. We talk about not only feeling imposter syndrome but also sometimes causing it. Vik dives into some of his imposter syndrome moments and the idea about "deserving" something good. You'll also hear stories about meetings with former Zappo's CEO Tony Hsieh (RIP), Gary Vaynerchuk, Busta Rhymes' on-stage co-pilot Spliff Star and we even talk about life post imposter syndrome. Enjoy our first ever truly meaty episode of The Raj Kotecha show and show us love on the DM - because you could end up inspiring a whole episode like this one.

In this first episode, Vik and I are trying to justify why we have assigned ourselves even more unpaid work by starting another podcast and correct a Russell Peters story which I have probably mistold on every interview I've ever given. Overall, a reasonable start.
