I came a quote from Maya Angelou that is a beautiful reminder that while we are focusing on our Self during our Pursuit, we need to make sure we are being kind to others.
From the book Embracing Uncomfortable, "Where do you find yourself in avoidance of the real aspects of your life, and how can you lovingly embrace where you're at in order to process the losses and the disappointments, and then shift the dynamics of your situation?"
This Monday Motivation highlights a friend of mine who had figured out the secrets of building a life that is bringing both personal and professional success to him while doing it 100% on his terms.
Samuel Deane is the founder and financial advisor of Deane Wealth Management, based in Atlanta, GA. More importantly he is a father and supportive husband not only building a wealth management firm for tech professionals with equity compensation but also beginning to build out his own entrepreneurial empire.
We're back after a couple of weeks or archives and no episode last Friday due to an epic trip to NYC with Roman. I had plenty to talk about in today's episode and after a quick update on PRST we dive into why it is so important to really know who you are.
When you have a better connection to your true Self, it allows you to begin to change your Pursuit to the life you want and away from the life you were told to experience.
Found this great quote from Cory Allen that starts with "Be honest with yourself about what you want. Don't deny your dreams..."
You'll have to tune into today's episode for the rest of the quote!
There will be periods of time on your Pursuit where things won't go your way. Thankfully, it is easy to shift your energy to the positive and correct the course you have wandered down...practicing gratitude.
As Bob Proctor says, "Expressing gratitude instantly shifts your energy. It puts you in harmony your source of supply so that the good in everything moves toward you."
We're halfway through the year and it's a great time to take inventory of what we are putting into our bodies--both food and information--and who we are surrounding ourselves with. There is a lot of negativity in the world right now but despite this there is more good than bad happening. Your social media feed may just not reflect this and the people you are surrounded by may be consumed by the negative, which tilts your perspective.
Take inventory of everything around you and if it's not moving your forward on your Pursuit find a way to drop whatever influence it may be or minimize the time allocated to it.
There's no other Monday Motivation for the 4th of July Holiday than the Pursuit of Ryan Holiday. In this episode we take a look at Ryan's journey to becoming a thought leader, expert on Stoicism, author of 10+ books, and living his ideal life on a farm in Austin and running his book store, in addition to his career as an author and creative strategist.
His story is one that should inspire, not seem far-fetched.
As I was flying to NYC looking out the window at the clouds, I had a thought..."I'm dying." No, I don't have a terminal diagnosis from a doctor but the reality is we are all dying--moving one second closer to the end, which is why PRST is so important.
In August, the first PRST Collective will commence with up to 5 individuals looking to find or incorporate in a greater way the passion in their lives. Tune in to hear what you can expect from the Collective and how you can enroll.
