Here is the beginning of our two weeks of ‘everything racehorse’ starting off with the RoR championships being held at Aintree Racecourse, following into National Racehorse Week 22nd Aug-31st August 2026

We are delivering you 3-4 episodes per week for the next two weeks, as well as bonus episodes of behind the scenes of my competing and our community events. 

We are so fortunate to be able to bring you four fabulous riders attending the RoR champs. From first time competitors, to seasoned competitors, actual racehorse trainers attending and people who work in racing nd have trained their horse both in racing and for the RoR Champs. 

We are looking at; the fears, the possible worries, the fun and the why as to everything surrounding the RoR Champs and hope you find this insightful, entertaining and a lovely way for people to share their stories

Pat Cummings is the executive Director for the National Thoroughbred Alliance. In 2025 Pat was quoted as saying that TB aftercare is woefully underfunded (in the USA) and since then, has been one of the main driving forces behind the SAFE act, which is to help prevent thoroughbreds from ending up in kill pens. The National Thoroughbred Alliance's statement is to; disrupt the status quo, facilitate communication across industry stakeholders (owners, trainers, jockeys, tracks, and bettors), and implement meaningful changes to ensure the sport's long-term health. 

In this episode we talk about the demand for the thoroughbred, the essential steps needed for the first two homes and how the landscape of aftercare in the USA will look in the up and coming and future years

The concept of a 'fairy tale ending' is very common in our world as we have grown up surrounded by Disney films where there is always an ending that ends well. 

With retraining does a 'fairy tale ending' actually exist? Are we striving for perfection? Does this exist? Is this a fair question to ask of our horses? Lots to think about and discuss
