Do yetis exist? You tell me. There is lots of evidence that the yeti, also known as the abominable snowman, is real. No one has proved 100% if he's real or not. Accounts go back to as early as the 1800s.

Because we are celebrating women, this podcast episode is about the achievements and accomplishments of women on Mt. Everest.

Though Mt. Everest is an amazing place, there is an ugly side to it. There are many problems on the mountain, caused by the hundreds who attempt to summit it every year. Trash, human waste, climate change, theft, and a whole lot more. People are doing what they can but it's still not enough.

Do you know who Green Boots is? This week's episode is about the deaths on the North side of Everest during 1996. I do think some of the deaths over the whole season could have been prevented. You'll hear the words "death" and "controversy" again and again.

At the time, 1996 was the deadliest year on Mt. Everest, with the deadliest day. So many people died that year. There are several reasons why there were so many deaths that year, including inexperience and severe weather. This episode covers the deaths on the South side and part 2 will cover the North side. Often the deadliest day is referred to as the 1996 Everest Disaster.

There are over 200 dead bodies left on Mt. Everest. It is the world's largest open-air graveyard. It is difficult and dangerous to remove dead bodies, so many are left where they lay. In this episode, I discuss some of the more "famous" deceased climbers, who remain on the world's highest mountain for all eternity. Over 300 people have died on Mount Everest. For the first episode, I thought a good starting point would be to talk about some of the interesting facts about Mt. Everest and answers to some of the more popular questions asked.
