Listen to today's podcast about why the customer experience matters...🥰 It's one of the most important things to remember.

Show up with intention. Always give your best to your guest. ⁠ ⁠ Focus all your attention on the person in your chair.⁠ ⁠

When servicing clients: ⁠ ⁠

•  Don’t answer any phone calls. ⁠
•  Don’t let your cell phone ring. ⁠
•  Don’t talk to other stylists. ⁠
•  Don’t gossip or pay attention to other guests. ⁠
•  Don’t tell clients your problems; listen to theirs. ⁠ ⁠ We should listen twice as much as we talk.

Physically get down on their level, so you are eye-to-eye during the consultation. This will help you focus and listen. ⁠ ⁠ Make a habit of conscious listening. Your guests will feel special and want to spend time with you again. ⁠ ⁠ Pretend that clients have a sign that says “Make Me Feel Important” hung around them. 🤗❤️⁠ ⁠

Quirky to the bone, Abby is a sucker for a Matcha green tea latte. She knows that the key to achieving someone’s dream hair is all in the communication!

We sit down to discuss the key areas of a successful consultation. Starting with eye contact, paying attention to the details (face shape, eye color, what shoes they’re wearing, body language) and building trust. She talks about why she never brings out color swatches when consulting.

Bridget’s Daily Nuggets: Solve their problem with retail products or educating. Connect with your guest during the consultation to build trust. Remember eye contact, at eye level. Be your best …your confidence will come with practice.

The best investment I made into my career was becoming ABCH certified (American Board Certified Hair Colorist). It has allowed me to truly understand hair from the inside out. The second best investment I made was attending the first national hair loss conference. I learned so much about the causes of hair loss and the variety of solutions to those causes.

Creativity and the hair industry run in my family. I stumbled into hair during high school and graduated with a cosmetology career. I tried college twice throughout the years, but hair was always there. Once I found Xanadu that was it. I knew. Connecting with my clients is the best feeling and the smiles are the greatest reward.
